I’m so excited to be a speaker for Maryland Tourism Coalition’s Spring Seminar on June 25th at Dove Pointe in City of Salisbury, Maryland! 🤩

The theme this year is “Inclusive Journeys.”

It will educate and provide tools for accessible tourism.

It focuses on both invisible and visible disabilities, which I love! As I always say: disability is a broad spectrum! 👩🏻‍🦼‍➡️🧏🏿‍♀️🦻🏼👨🏽‍🦯‍➡️

So many people with disabilities face barriers in tourism, whether it’s statewide, nationwide, or local. I can testify to this firsthand!

My experience isn’t a singular one either. It’s one that everyone in the disability community has experienced.

I’m so thrilled that it’s taking place here on the Eastern Shore. Our local community on the Shore depends on tourism.

Ocean City, MD is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the state and Northeast America! 🏖️

Accessible tourism benefits everyone! Not only individuals, but businesses and cities too! Just think of how much tourism matters to our incredible Main Street communities — especially on the Shore.

When we center accessibility, it tells the disability and aging communities they’re welcome! 🤗

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, including packaging. ♻️

Every OCS product is thoughtfully housed in either recycled waste plastic or ocean-bound plastic bottles, helping reduce the environmental impact of salon waste.

Ocean-bound plastic is gathered from coastal areas, riverbanks, and regions where waste management is limited or non-existent, making it highly likely that the plastic would eventually end up in the ocean.

By collecting and recycling this plastic before it enters the ocean, .ocean.plastic (POP) initiatives help reduce ocean pollution while turning discarded plastic into usable material for new products, supporting both environmental protection and a circular economy.

Look for the POP logo on the labels of our bottles made from ocean-bound plastic. 🌊💙

Passing this along ~

A coworker of mine shared at work that her daughter is a Crisis Specialist with Life Crisis in Salisbury and she wanted to share with all of us that...

There will be a warming/ cold weather shelter opening up at 6pm on 01/24/26 (tomorrow) at Bennett High School in Salisbury.

Currently it is planned to be open until lunchtime on Monday the 26th, however this could be extended because of the Sub freezing temperatures expected next week.

She asked us to share with anyone we know that has housing or heating issues or is homeless.

I know that Princess Anne & Somerset Libraries were open this week from 10am until 6:45pm, but am uncertain about over this weekend. If anyone out there has information to share on that, please do so.
Let’s all look out for each other.
Thank you & be safe.
