The pretarsal, preseptal, and orbital portions aren’t interchangeable. They control everything from gentle blinking and tear distribution to forceful eye closure and lymphatic drainage.

Because treating the wrong layer with a neuromodulator can unintentionally affect blinking, tear film stability, lymphatic drainage, or natural facial expression.
