Uptown Salon

Our team at Uptown Salon has been working tirelessly to get everything set up to follow the new guidelines that the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has released. We are planning to have a soft reopening this Friday, May 8th, but please understand that the number of clients we will be taking will be limited and not every stylist will be prepared to start work on Friday. Stylists across the state are going to be overwhelmed with everyone rushing to get their hair done. Your stylist will reach out to you and work to get you in as soon as they can. Please forgive us if we don't respond to you right away! New guidelines and procedures will be posted at the entrance and around the salon. It will be required that the person receiving a service will be the only one allowed inside the salon. Please do not bring a group of people with you. Cutting children's hair will be up to each individual stylist, but only one child and one parent will be allowed to come in. Please notify your stylist by text, if possible, that you have arrived for your appointment. Your stylist will then text you or come outside to get you when they are ready to proceed with your service. Our door will be locked to keep the flow of people in control. There is a doorbell for those that cannot text or don't have a cell phone to get in touch with us. It is required that you use the hand sanitizer provided as soon as you enter, before proceeding any further into the salon. It is strongly encouraged that you wear a mask upon entering the salon, then your stylist will instruct you to remove it when, and if, your service requires it to be removed. We have hand sanitizer, disinfectant sprays and wipes, and disposable gloves conveniently placed throughout the salon for your use. Thank you for your understanding during this new process, as this situation is a learning experience for us all. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you as soon as we can, but again, please understand that we have to take things slow to ensure proper sanitation and safety for you and for us!

Update: So, after Governor Abbott's conference today, we didn't get the news that we were hoping for. While other businesses are starting to open with certain restrictions, salons, bars, and gyms are to remain closed for now. Our team of stylists at Uptown Salon miss all of our amazing clients terribly, but we will follow orders for your safety and ours. We are eagerly awaiting the day when we can open and see all your smiling faces! We are now hoping to open during phase 2 of the reopening process, which means, with fingers crossed, mid May. So please, hang in there with us and we hope to see you all sooner rather than later! Thank you all for your continued support and understanding! Until we can see you in our chairs, please stay safe and healthy!

Update: As instructed by the State of Texas, Uptown Salon will be closed until April 30th. We hope by that time, this virus will be under control and we can all go back to our normal lives. We look forward to seeing our clients again and taking care of your hair! Till then, please stay safe and healthy!

Update: As per city order and following CDC guidelines, Uptown Salon will be closed effective from 8am Wednesday the 25th until April 3rd, or until instructed otherwise. We appreciate your understanding and support during this time. We will be happy to help with your hair needs as soon as this order is lifted! Stay safe and healthy!

A message to our loyal clients... As of right now, Uptown Salon is still open for business. We understand the concerns everyone has about this virus going around. The health and safety of our clients and ourselves is very important at Uptown! Along with our already higher level of sanitation procedures we have to follow with our job, we are going the extra step to protect our clients even more. We have increased the amount of sanitation we do at the salon and are regularly wiping down/disinfecting more frequently touched areas such as door handles, chairs, and the bathroom area. We have also removed the magazines from our reception area due to those being hard to disinfect. We will remain open, by appointment as always, until we are told we absolutely have to shut our doors. We ask that if you are getting your hair done, please come alone and don't bring extra friends or family with you if they are not getting something done as well. Also, if you are feeling sick, please reschedule your appointment for when you are feeling better. We will post updates here if anything changes. Stay safe and healthy, and have a happy hair day!

Unfortunately, one of our favorite stylists, Cereta, is leaving the Uptown Family. We wish her the best of luck on her new journey! With that being said, there will be 2 rooms available for rent at $100 per week, available starting the second week of October. Uptown Salon carries a dual salon/barber license, so we can accept both cosmetologists and barbers. It has been a LONG time since I've posted on the salon page. A lot of changes have been made in the little over 3 years I've had the salon. But the main reason for this post is that I want to welcome 3 new stylists to Uptown! Jane, Debbie, and Cindy previously from Rudy's Salon... Welcome to the Uptown team! Its that time...Uptown Salon Christmas Social is happening this evening at 6pm at the salon (311 W Concho Suite E)! Everyone is welcome to come. Join us for food, drinks, and a good time!

It's time to get into the holiday spirit! Uptown Salon is having a Christmas Social on Saturday, December 15th, starting at 6pm. It will be held at the salon, 311 W Concho Ave Suite E. Everyone is welcome to come. There will be appetizers, wine, punch, fun people, and even enter your name for a chance to win some free hair products (must be present to win). This is a chance for us at the salon to show thanks to our loyal clients and to help spread the word about the salon. Clients, bring your friends, and if you haven't been to the salon yet, now is a great time to check it out! So please join us on the 15th to get to know the stylists of Uptown Salon (Cody Brenek, Victoria Spragg, Monica Enriquez, and Cereta Brownfield), socialize with clients and friends, and get into the holiday spirit!
