I almost said no to a blonding session for this hair. It was pretty damaged with multiple different tones. The biggest concern for the client was the orange band and the fact that it wasn’t growing out nicely.

Since we both understood the risks and possibilities, we proceeded with an airtouch technique. I used all possible methods to protect the hair and avoid touching already damaged hair with lightener.

As a result we got a beautiful beige blonde. The client went home with thorough instructions on how to get her hair healthier. And there had been a huge progress since then.

When choosing an inspiration photo - it’s important to find someone who is similar to your hair color and texture. Sometimes you see a beautiful picture and want same results, but their starting point and yours are completely on opposite spectrums. If you have dark hair naturally - results will never look the same as on a girl with naturally light hair.

Realistic expectations are key to having beautiful results unique to you 🫶🏻

Sunscreen + blonde extensions ☀️

Something you might not know: avobenzone, a common sunscreen ingredient, can cause blonde extensions to turn peachy, pink, or orange.

When wearing blonde extensions, mineral sunscreen is usually the safer choice for your hair. Look for formulas with zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide and, most importantly, make sure they’re avobenzone-free.

Pay extra attention when applying sunscreen around your neck, shoulders, and back.
