If you’ve always thought about getting a brazilian but never had the guts to go for it, let me just bust a few concerns for you — because it’s not nearly as bad as you might be thinking!

MYTH: It hurts like hell!
THE REALITY: It’s the most common fear. And yes, it’s gonna sting a little — but only for a few moments! I have been doing this a long time and I have *lots* of tricks to make it as pain-free as possible, like putting pressure on the area after pulling the strip, and using powder to help the wax grip the hair, not your skin. Since everyone has their own pain tolerance, some people will register more pain than others, but I’ve never had anyone say it was worse than they imagined.

MYTH: The hair will grow back thicker or coarser.
THE REALITY: Nope. It’s shaving that gives the impression of “thicker” and “coarser” hair because it gives the end of the hair a blunt tip (and makes you prone to ingrowns — see below!) Because waxing and sugaring removes the hair from the root, your hair will grow back softer and thinner, making future waxing sessions a breeze.

MYTH: It’s so embarrassing! 🫣
THE REALITY: The first time can feel awkward because it’s a new experience, but when you work with a pro like me who respects your feelings and privacy with a safe, comfortable space, you’ll find that it’s actually a pretty great experience. My goal is to make you feel better — not worse — about the process.
