The first version of liquid shampoo (still “soap”) was invented in 1927 by Hans Schwarzkopf. Since 1927, liquid has been the most common form factor for hair cleansing. It was not until 1933 that Hans Schwarzkopf created a soap-free liquid.

The manual hair clipper was invented by a 19th century Serbian barber apprentice. The first electric version was developed in 1919 in Chicago, Illinois. The inventor went on to found the Wahl Clipper Corporation. They're still one of the biggest manufacturers to this day

The mohawk (also referred to as a mohican) is a hairstyle in which, in the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the center. the earliest depictions of dreadlocks date back as far as 3600 years to the Minoan Civilization, one of Europe's earliest civilizations, centered in Crete (now part of Greece).Frescoes discovered on the Aegean island of Thera (modern Santorini, Greece) depict individuals with braided hair styled in long dreadlocks. Locks have been worn for various reasons in each culture. Their use has also been raised in debates about cultural appropriation.

Thanks to tons of hairspray and teasing, wearing hair rollers to bed to ensure your flip didn’t flop during the day, the flip was all the rage! Some women added hairpieces so they could achieve their dream, big bouffant hairdo.Who knows, maybe women will flip again for the big hair, bouffant flip style in the near future!

New Wave is a genre of fashion that was brought to life in late 1970's through the mid 1980's with influences from punk culture as well as the development of music technologies like synthesizers. Basically, what classified as music was changing, with less reliance on traditional instruments.The hair fashion itself derived from the hybrid of glam punk and tribal styles that gave way also to bright colors in the hair. The attitude of being unique was definitely the force behind the styles that demonstrated the “I don’t care what you think” mantra.
