Sometimes the Best Service Is the One You Don’t Do.

This client came in wanting a relaxer to achieve this look, but her hair had already been colored before she came to me (I did not do the color). After assessing her hair, I recommended holding off on the relaxer because her hair needed a protein treatment first.

Instead, I gave her the cut on her natural hair, proving that you don’t always need to jump into another chemical service to get a beautiful result.

I also intentionally left more length on top than the inspiration photo. Since she’s still natural, I wanted her to have enough hair to style it herself. Cutting it shorter would’ve limited her styling options.

Knowing when to say “not yet” is just as important as knowing how to say “yes.” Healthy hair always comes first.
