I was very self conscious going in to take my photos, so I’m so very grateful and appreciative for John Balk for bearing with me and being so patient and kind. 🙏🏽

I feel very blessed to have been able to attend my first conference as a scholar. I was welcomed with open arms by an amazing community. I normally get very anxious when I travel, especially alone, but I was not anxious once and I owe it all to the lovely volunteers and fellow scholars. I felt so safe and supported the entire time I was there (7 days!). I was never alone unless I wanted to be and I always had someone to turn to. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and at home the entire time. 🫶🏼

I found community and I’ll forever be grateful to all of you. I know I have people I can go to and count on in this industry and it’s beyond what I imagined would come out of going to conference. I can’t wait to go back to see all of my friends again. 🥺

Using AI for everything you do is gross. It speaks volumes on how you are as a person. It screams performative when you’re “apologizing” about it when being called out, but then defending it right after and continuing to use it because “it’s everywhere anyway.” Yes, it is everywhere. And that’s a problem. Yes, it can’t be helped that it is engrained into everything online now, but making AI your literal brand and using it for anything that requires creativity is just unnecessary and childish. It screams that you don’t give a f**k about the planet, morality, ethics, or preserving genuine art. It screams laziness. If you can’t even type out an argument to defend AI on your own, you have bigger problems and maybe you should be embarrassed to post about it. You should be embarrassed to post anything that was made with AI. If you can’t be creative on your own, fine, but at least have some shame.

I hope you know that the majority of people, especially in this industry, HATE AI. It’s very off putting and makes people not want to work with you or support you or your business.

This s**t is just disturbing.

Think about the argument you just made, try applying it to anything else, and see how stupid it sounds.

“Yeah, global warming is not going anywhere, so might as well contribute to it and defend it bc we can’t help it.”
