Yesterday’s French Haircutting class was such a powerful reminder that technical growth in our industry cannot stop at color alone. ✨

While advanced color placement creates dimension and visual impact, the haircut is ultimately what controls the shape, movement, weight distribution, and longevity of the final result. A strong cutting foundation allows color to live better, move better, and grow out more intentionally.

✂️ French haircutting approaches hair through a much more customized and architectural lens. Instead of applying the same haircut to every guest, we study the individual first — analyzing face shape, bone structure, body proportions, density, texture, growth patterns, and natural movement to determine the most harmonious silhouette for that person.

One of the core philosophies behind French haircutting is understanding that the hair is the curtain, while the face remains the focal point. Every line, layer, and removal of weight is designed to guide the eye back toward the features rather than overpower them.

👗This system also teaches us to think more like artists and dressmakers: preparing the “fabric” before creating the final design. The way we remove weight, build shape, and preserve softness should support how the guest naturally moves, styles, and lives in their hair — not just how it looks leaving the salon that day.
