As a mom, you want the best for your child, especially when it comes to their health. While antibiotics might seem like a quick fix for acne, they don’t address the root cause and aren’t effective in the long term. Acne isn’t caused by bacteria; it’s actually due to an inherited tendency to build up dead skin cells in the pores.
Antibiotics can also disrupt your child’s beneficial bacteria, potentially leading to other health issues. For a safer, more effective solution, consider Proderma Acne for Teens. Our drug-free, topical treatment targets the real cause of acne directly, helping your child achieve clear skin without compromising their overall well-being. .

Could Peanut Butter Be Linked to Your Breakouts?
Written by Proderma Acne Clinic
Do you just adore eating peanut butter straight from the jar? Do you also experience frequent acne breakouts? It turns out that your favorite snack may be linked to your breakouts in a way you might not expect.
In order to understand how peanut butter can cause breakouts, you must first understand how acne forms in the first place. The body naturally creates sebum, or oil, mostly on the upper body and face. When there is too much sebum, it mixes with the dead skin cells and other debris in the follicles, resulting in clogged pores and breakouts. Often times an excess of sebum production results from an increased amount of androgens, or male hormones, within the body. Eating certain foods can cause an increase in androgen production, such as milk and other dairy products.
So how does this relate to peanut butter?
Well, added carbs and sugars to improve the consistency and taste of the peanut butter can cause a surge of blood sugar levels within the body. With that comes an increase of insulin production. Higher insulin levels in the body also results in higher androgen production, and thus more oil production and breakouts.
Now obviously peanut butter doesn’t affect everyone like this, but for some acne sufferers, you might want to either decrease your consumption or cut it out entirely. Alternatively, switch your peanut butter to an organic brand with the least amount of ingredients on the label.
WHY YOU HAVE ACNE
This is the chain how acne begin:
1) The body produces testosterone
2) An enzyme in the skin (5-alpha reductase) converts it to a stronger hormone – dihydrotestosterone – and stimulate sebum production
3) In the GENETICALLY PREDISCPOSED skin sebum sets off retention hyperkeratosis (acne).
Interesting!
1) no testosterone = no acne (Eunuchs do not produce testosterone. They do not have acne)
2) lack of enzyme = no acne (Some individuals have low level of 5-alpha reductase enzyme. They do not have acne.)
Meanwhile:
1) Individuals with high level of testosterone can never sprout a pimple
2) Oily skin itself does not develop acne. There are a lot of those who have oily skin and never had acne.
The key factor in the process of forming acne is GENETICS.
Only certain families develop acne. 98% of our clients say that either of their parents had acne when they were young.
We help acne sufferers to achieve clear skin and help ‘fix’ this unfavorable genetic trait. Call 949.498.9007 to schedule a free consultation for you or someone you love.
