Beauty Professionals wear many hats— but at the core, we are ultimately the safe space, sounding board and secret keepers for our clients.
Yesterday, I was given the most monumental privilege. I was asked to hold and reveal the secret of the gender for one of my client’s that is pregnant! This was a moment where I was like, “Girl, this is it! This is what it’s all about!! You found your life path and you’re doing it freaking well!” Before a parent, a family member, or even a best friend, me… the Wax Lady, I was chosen with this gift! 🥹🥰🩷
I hope even when people mock your career of waxing buttholes, playing with skin, doing lashes or painting peoples hair, these kind of moments stick with you and you remember that your job is SO MUCH MORE than just offering beauty services to people. We are THEIR special people!!!!
A cute little backstory: This special girl has been with me for over 10 years. We met at EWC— she has referred several clients to me, she was with me during my 5 years there, and has followed me everywhere since. I have watched her land her career, get engaged, buy a home and get married. She walked into my studio one day a couple months ago, in a really cute blue gym set, and I just noticed something different. I asked if she was pregnant and she told me no. Well…. fast forward, she was, she just didn’t know yet! I saw her three weeks later and asked her again and she still told me no lol She was waiting to tell her husband first, so she couldn’t tell me yet. And now here we are… I’m just waiting for her and her husband to open their card after lunch!!!! 🤗🤐🩷🩵
I can only speak for my girls— but I know they all got that A+ puss after a wax with me 😽🤏🏼🤏🏼
There are definitely pros and cons to both—
but to me, being able to raise my children and make memories more days of the week with them than someone else did, is the most important thing to me.
I didn’t have this luxury with my oldest son and I am so fortunate to only work 2 days a week and be home with my boys the rest of the time.
At home, I am with my favorite people. At my studio, I am with my favorite people. Not many individuals are able to say that and I am so grateful for the life that your constant support enables me to have. 🩷
Your Wax Lady will have you in positions that would make your partner blush ☺️🤭🤣
