I was 5 years old, at a children’s camp, when someone prayed over me, looked at my hands and said, “These hands are going to heal people.”

I didn’t understand it then.

Growing up as a pastor’s daughter, I was always surrounded by conversations about purpose, calling, and serving others. For a long time, I thought I knew what mine would look like. Then life took me in directions I never expected.

I became a professor. I taught for years, and I loved it. But deep down, I still wondered if there was something more I was meant to do.

When I left that career to become a mom and a makeup artist, I’ll be honest—I questioned myself more times than I can count. I didn’t even know how I would help women feel beautiful if I didn’t feel like myself anymore. It seemed like such an unexpected path after everything I had worked so hard for.

But little by little, I realized something.

Healing doesn’t always look the way we imagine.

Sometimes it looks like helping a bride recognize herself in the mirror instead of feeling hidden behind makeup.

Sometimes it looks like listening before I ever pick up a brush.

Sometimes it looks like helping a woman feel seen, understood, and connected to herself.

And sometimes it is repeating everything I say to other women to myself “you are beautiful”

I don’t think my hands heal people because they do makeup.

I think they heal because they help someone reconnect with the person they already are.

After all these years of searching for my purpose, I finally feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. ❤️
