I don’t even know how to put into words what this woman meant to me.

My mom.
My safe place.
The person who loved me through every version of myself.

I already miss her more than I can explain.

I think one of the hardest parts is realizing there’s no one else quite like your mom.

No one who knows your heart the same way.
No one who loves you so naturally and unconditionally.

She was my person.

This was not suppose to happen and I am still in such shock and pain but I will say this-

Heaven gained the most amazing woman. ❤️

Can I be really honest for a second…
Because I almost gave up……

There was a moment not long ago where I seriously asked myself if I should just go back.

Something stable.
Something familiar.
Something that would’ve been the “easy” answer.

Because this past year?
It was heavy.

Personally.
With my health.
With my family.
With everything.

And when life feels like that, it’s really easy to fall back into what feels safe… That’s what we are taught, right??
even if you know in your heart it’s not where you’re meant to be anymore.

When LaDon and I made the decision to move across the country and I started a new business, it wasn’t some perfectly thought-out plan.

It was uncomfortable.
It was uncertain.
And if I’m being honest… it was a little scary.

There were moments I kept thinking…
“Should I just go back?”
“Am I making this harder than it needs to be?”

But every time I questioned it, something would happen — a conversation, an opportunity, a small sign — that reminded me:

This is where you’re supposed to be.

Because deep down, I knew there was more for me.
More that I wanted to give.
More ways I wanted to help.

And I couldn’t ignore that feeling… even when it didn’t make sense yet.

And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

So many women in this stage of life feel stuck.
Like it’s too late.
Like this is just what we do now.
Like we missed our window.
Like they are “judged” for their age.

But what if you didn’t?

What if the uncomfortable feeling you have right now…
is actually trying to point you somewhere new?

Because sometimes, when you finally step outside your comfort zone and stay there…
something unexpected happens.

A phone call.
A conversation.
New company website that you help launch.
A moment in the middle of a random day that makes you stop and think—

“Okay… I am on the right path.”
Or
“It’s time to make a change”

And that’s all you need to keep going.

Not certainty.
Not perfection.

Just enough to remind you not to turn around.

You stay the course.

Even when it stretches you.

There’s something about being a fire wife that people don’t really talk about….and the last few weeks it’s been HEAVY on my mind.

It’s not the part where we’re proud.
Because we are. Every single day.

It’s the part where life is happening…and sometime some crazy, heavy BS parts of life
and they’re not there.

The emergencies.
The health scares.
The decisions that are scary but have to be made.
The holidays.
The really hard days when everything feels like too much…

And you’re the one holding it together. Alone.

Because they’re out there…
saving someone else’s life, someone else’s home, someone else’s family. Sometimes you can’t even talk to them when you need to.

And you wouldn’t change that about them. Not for a second.

But that doesn’t make it easy.

There’s a strength that comes with this life that nobody really prepares you for…

Showing up for everyone else when you’re running on empty.
Holding it together when inside you’re scared, overwhelmed, or just tired.
Answering the calls, making the decisions, being the one no matter what.

And still… putting on a face like everything’s okay.

The truth is…
we don’t always talk about how hard that part is.

Lately… I’ve felt it.

But if you’re a fire wife reading this — you already know.

And I just want to say…
I see you.

The strength.
The sacrifice.
The quiet moments no one else notices.

You are doing more than people realize.

And even on the days it feels heavy…

Yeah… not doing that

I’ve earned every lesson, every laugh line, every ounce of confidence, and yes sometimes I’m still emotional chaos, but that’s ok

The best part about being over 50?
You stop chasing approval… and start owning your presence.

It’s also the anniversary of losing one of my amazing boys,
and somehow, even with that weight, today still held some really beautiful moments too.

And I think that’s life, isn’t it?

Hard and beautiful.
Grief and gratitude.
Messy and meaningful… all at the same time.

This past year has tested me more deeply than I expected.

Personally.
As a mom.
As a wife.
As a woman trying to hold my s**t together.

There were moments I felt stretched thin…
moments I questioned everything I do and have done..
and moments that reminded me how quickly life can change.

Like… in a minute.

And when you’ve lived through that kind of loss, your husband has the job he does
you stop sweating the small stuff.

You stop shutting people out just because you’re angry
You stop waiting for “someday.”

You hold your people closer.
You take care of your health.
You choose peace a little faster.

Because nothing is guaranteed.

So tonight feels like a reset.

Letting go of what’s heavy.
Keeping what matters.
Moving forward softer… and stronger.

Fresh chapter.
Same heart.
