The hardest part of serving Kambo isn't learning how to apply the medicine. It’s what happens when the training wheels come off.

There is an epidemic of isolation among plant medicine practitioners. Every week, my inbox is flooded with questions from Kambo servers who were handed a certificate by a training program but left completely unsupported when it comes to the reality of the work.

They ask about complex autoimmune conditions. They ask about overlapping contraindications. They ask how to source ethical medicine when the market is flooded with exploitation.

When you are holding space for someone’s profound somatic and physical healing, you cannot rely on guesswork. The real education of a practitioner doesn't end after a two-week intensive; it requires years of ongoing mentorship, peer review, and grounded clinical discussion.

That is why I created theMedicine Frog Kambo Mentorship Community Platform.

I wanted to build an easy-to-use, centralized hub where you never have to feel like you are practicing in the dark.

Inside the platform, you can:
✨ Ask nuanced questions about specific client conditions and receive expert guidance from myself (Caitlin) and experienced peers.
✨ Search a massive archive of related threads to see if your specific question has already been answered.
✨ Choose between flexible Monthly or Annual memberships.
✨ Upgrade to a Pro Account to get direct access to ethical, sustainable medicine sourcing through our exclusive Co-op.
You hold heavy space for others. Let us hold space for you. You don't have to walk this journey alone.

Microdosing Kambo: a gentle path to healing. 🐸
Not everyone is ready (or needs) the intensity of a full Kambo purge. Microdosing offers a softer way to work with the medicine, one that can support the body, mind, and spirit with subtle yet powerful shifts.

From easing acute infections, to helping manage chronic conditions, to lifting mood, energy, and emotional heaviness, microdosing provides a path of clarity, balance, and connection.
At Medicine Frog Kambo, we’re dedicated to teaching safe, ethical, and trauma-informed practices for working with this sacred medicine in all its forms. 💚

Curious if microdosing is right for you? DM “Micro” and let’s explore together.

Yes, it still hurts.

Even after hundreds of times sitting with this medicine, Kambo is still uncomfortable (especially the burns for me!).

Kambo doesn't get less hard, butyoubecome better at it.

Over time, you develop the skills that allow you to move through the experience with more grace and ease. You develop an unshakable trust in the medicine, your body, and your mind. Ultimately, the hardest part is simply getting out of your own way.

Life isn't about finding a way to make everything easier. It's about becoming more resilient and growing so that the hard stufffeelseasier to navigate.

This is the true gift of integration from an experience like Kambo. That's exactly why we call it a "practice." It takes time, patience, and many iterations of honing your skills.

What was the hardest part of your first Kambo practice, and how has it changed for you over time? Let me know below.👇

🔥🐸 Can you reuse Kambo burns?
This is a question I hear all the time. The short answer is yes, you can — but it’s not always ideal.

Scar tissue heals with different properties that can affect how Kambo is absorbed. If the skin is still in the healing phase, there may be more blood vessels at the site, which can increase bleeding and shift how much medicine actually enters the body.

If you do choose to re-burn old gates, it’s best to wait 2–4 months depending on the part of the body and how quickly your skin heals.

✨ Even something as simple as where and how you burn carries nuance and skill. That’s why proper training makes all the difference.

Before Kambo was a buzzword in Western wellness, it wasn’t used for "shadow work." It was a technology for survival.

To truly understand Kambo, we have to look at its origins. The Indigenous people of the Amazon didn't originally sit with the giant monkey frog to have emotional breakthroughs. They utilized it ashunting magic.

They took the medicine to clearpanema(a dense, stagnant energy or "bad luck"). They took it to massively increase their physical stamina, sharpen their visual and auditory senses, and strip away their "human scent" so they could move invisibly through the dense jungle to track their prey.

When we sit with Kambo today, most of us aren’t preparing to track an animal through the rainforest. But make no mistake—we are still hunting.

We are hunting for our purpose in a culture designed to keep us endlessly distracted. We are hunting for clarity. We are tracking the lives we know, deep in our bones, we are actually meant to be living.

And Kambo works on our modern nervous systems exactly as it did for those indigenous hunters.

The heavy "human scent" we carry today isn't physical; it is our conditioning. It is the lingering scent of self-doubt, societal programming, and the sluggishness of modern living. Kambo strips this away. It burns through the mental fog. It sharpens our intuition, turning the volume down on the noise so we can finally hear the signal.
Most importantly, it gives us the ferocious, grounded energy required to take action.

Kambo is not a passive treatment. It will not hunt for you. It simply clears your vision, sharpens the spear, and gives you the stamina to track your true path. The rest is up to you.

What are you hunting for in your life right now? Clarity? Purpose? Health? Tell me in the comments. ⬇️

New space just opened up!

This August–September 2026, I’m returning to the Matsés territory for a small, intentionally selected group.

We travel deep into the Peruvian Amazon — to Angamos and beyond — arriving by military plane and river boat into one of the most remote inhabited regions on the planet.

This is not a retreat center.
Not curated jungle aesthetics.
Not performance spirituality.

This is a raw, logistically complex, culturally real experience inside the Matsés reserve, where Kambo is not a wellness trend, but part of lived tradition.

If you’ve already done the “Amazon experience” and felt something was missing…
If you’re ready for something that stretches your comfort, your assumptions, and your edges…

This may be for you.

Small group. Serious applicants only.

Aug–Sept 2026.

Message “jungle” for connect for details.

What exactly is “Dry Kambo”? And how is it different from microdosing?

The term Dry Kambo gets thrown around a lot, but not everyone means the same thing when they use it.

Some say it just means “no water.” Others assume it means no purging. Some think it’s just a fancy word for a microdose. Let’s set the record straight 👇

💧 Dry Kambo (by my definition) involves a normal/full dose, but no water is consumed with the intention of purging. Sometimes a purge happens, sometimes not. The focus is on the experience without the flood of fluids.

🪶 Microdosing involves a much smaller dose, intentionally kept below the purge threshold. It’s subtle. Gentle. And often used for regular energetic or physical maintenance.

Yes, there’s overlap. And technically a microdose can be considered dry. Both can avoid purging. But the difference lies in dosage, intention, and intensity of experience.

Swipe the carousel for more clarity and check out the Venn diagram to see how they relate.

With the rising trends of Kambo usage across the wellness space, it’s natural to question the safety of the medicine—especially when it comes to the risk of dependency.

Because Kambo contains opioid-activating peptides (like dermorphin and deltorphin), people often ask if sitting with the frog is addictive. The short answer? Chemically, no. In fact, many of the peptides in Kambo have been shown to activelydisruptaddiction patterns, helping thousands of people break free from smoking, alcohol, and illicit drug dependencies.

But as with any healing modality, the human element is where things get complex. Can you become chemically dependent on Kambo? No. Can you form an unhealthy behavioral attachment to it, using the purge as a crutch to avoid doing the actual work of integration? Yes.

Healing requires mindfulness, intentionality, and a deep respect for both the spirit of the medicine and yourself. Swipe through the carousel to learn the science behind Kambo and addiction. ➡️
