At Smoothed, our work goes far beyond appearance. We are deeply educated in diverse hair textures, curl patterns, density, porosity, and the specific needs of 3C and 4C hair. We understand curl integrity, moisture balance, shrinkage, heat sensitivity, and the importance of preserving the hair’s natural strength and identity.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all formulas—especially not for textured hair. Every service begins with a thorough consultation, careful assessment, and honest communication. We prioritize hair health, safety, and realistic outcomes over trends or shortcuts.

We get this question all the time: can you do keratin on color-treated hair?

The answer is a hard yes. Not only *can* you—you absolutely should.

Keratin is one of the best tools we have to fight damage from bleach. Clients who get regular keratin treatments experience drastically less breakage, dryness, and overall damage when they get highlights.

Timing matters. We love doing keratin a few weeks *after* your highlights, once the color has settled. You don’t want to do keratin right before highlighting, because bleach will break down the treatment.

If you have virgin hair and are thinking about going lighter, we actually recommend getting a couple rounds of keratin in your hair *before* you bleach for the first time. Stronger hair = safer highlights.
