STOP! ✋🏽lemme talk to ya😏

let’s go over a few things that I feel are often misconstrued around waxing!

1. “Waxing makes your hair grow back thicker” …. FALSE ❌
- Waxing removes hair from the follicle/ root so it does not make it grow back thicker. With waxing we are actually slowing down the growth of hair by disconnecting the hair itself from the root. Sometimes we experience pinpoint bleeding during a wax which to me screams BOMB A** WAX! this is clear sign that are roots are disconnected from the blood flow to the hair, and will take longer to grow back.

2. “Waxing isn’t good for your skin”….. WHO SAID DAT?! ❌
- Waxing is actually another form of exfoliation! It removes dead skin, can help refresh the look of tattoos and even help over time lessen the look of hyperpigmentation. All skin types are able to be waxed but certain contraindications may apply. Be sure to communicate to your waxer of things like pregnancy, acuteness, biotin, birth control and more!

3. “Exfoliating should be part of your skin routine when waxing” YES HUNNAY✅
- Exfoliation is recommended every 2-3 days followed with moisturising daily with a good oil or non clogging lotion. Exfoliation helps me and you to get those hairs out from under the skin as they grow back and lessen the buildup of dead skin and oils in ur sexy area!

4. “ Double dipping is unsanitary and dangerous” ABSOLUTELY ✅
- I don’t even have to say much… we use new wax sticks EVERYTIME we dip into a pot here, Mr. Waddy did not play about infection control!😂 But seriously though improper sanitation and cleaning in rare cases can cause things like skin and bacterial infections, keeping things squeaky and organised is top priority to me and my clients.
