Today marks 6 months since my best friend took her last breath and crossed over. I never imagined how hard it would be to cope after losing her. There is definitely an emptiness in my heart. She was my companion (aka bestie/work buddy)for my entire adulthood and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it, but I have hope that my heart will one day feel whole again. I miss you my little Queen.

This is me. Bare skin on a “no-makeup-Monday”. The older I get, the more comfortable I have become in my skin. It has taken me numerous years to be comfortable enough to allow myself to be easy on myself in regards to being able to show my bare skin in public. Through the traumas of being bullied from kindergarten to 8th grade for just being myself with my freckles, glasses and red hair, it was engraved in me that I wasn’t an equal to my fellow peers in school. Once I was of the age to be able to wear some makeup, I used it to feel better…to blend in. For years I felt that I had to keep up this perfect made up look with a full face of makeup and hair. And although I’m in the industry and I absolutely love make up, anything girly, dressing up for a fun night out etc., it should not define you as a person. For years I hid behind this mask because it made me feel accepted. and especially because for 12 years of my adulthood, I developed cystic adult acne and had a whole other struggle to hide behind. This been a huge year of change for me and I am proud to finally say that ai have accepted my bare skin. I love my skin actually!! I take damn good care of it and have since I was a teen. I appreciate it, rosacea and all. So to anyone out there who needs to hear this: DON’T be embarrassed to leave the house without makeup or to cover scars, dark spots(melasma), freckles, rosacea, wrinkles. This life is what we make of it friends…Just live!!! ✌🏼&🤍

I’ve had anxiety for the past eight days because with a very heavy and broken heart I did not know if I would have the nerve to make this announcement. On April 3, I had to say my final goodbyes to my sweet little angel Lola. For those of you who have known me for the past 20 years, you know that Lola has always been by my side. She was my companion, my other half, my road dog, my one and only, my soul sister, the glue that held me together, we were two peas in a pod, attached at the hip, best friends, my ride or die…my Little Queen. Everyone knows Lola from family members to friends and all of my clients. I’m so glad that I got to spend 19+ AMAZING and fun-filled years with this perfect little soul. I truly believe God brought her in my life because he knew that I wouldn’t have a partner for the majority of my 20s and 30s. She was “my person” during that period and she waited until I met a wonderful man and then she waited a little bit more just to make sure he was the right one. And for that I will be forever grateful. I have no words to describe how much I will miss her presence in my life. I am going to sign off by saying what I told her every single day when I left the house; I love you the most My Little Queen. ✨🤍🐶😇✨
