For the time being, walking my son all the way to first period has officially been added to my morning routine😭

and I mean ALL the way. The first few days he was NOT happy ab it. but it’s been a week now & he’s adjusted, I think we both have.

The biggest lesson for me through all of this is sometimes you’ll give your kids freedom, see what they do with it and realize you need to reel it back in. He’ll earn it back little by little.. until then.. looks like we both have first period🙇🏻‍♀️

I almost didn’t share this as a reel bc parenting can feel so personal, especially when things aren’t going the way you thought they would

But after all the messages I’ve gotten from other moms sharing their own story & feeling less alone, I felt like I needed to share it here too🤍

Teenage years are HARD & sometimes I think we need more moms talking about the parts of parenting that aren’t pretty or easy to admit.

So I’m leaving this here for the mom who might need to hear it too🫶🏼
