CUTICLE WORK.

Do you know why it looks like the nail grows with gel on it? ( second picture)

The biggest secret is clean cuticles!

If you didn’t trim all dead skin, the gel application will run on the side of the nail.

If you work with

E-file machine,
Here are some tips:
1. Push back the cuticles.
2. Make sure to remove all pterigium (dry skin under cuticles) with E- file machine. At first go on Forward on all 10 fingers and than switch your machine to Reverse.
3. Trim the cuticles with scissors, nippers, or diamond bit.
4. Take an orange wood stick, lint-free napkin, and alcohol. Before you apply gel, wrap a napkin on the stick, soak it in liquid and go under the cuticles.

1. Quality product.

Of course your work has to be stunning. This is how you will catch the first attention. But if you want the client to be back, you need to provide quite more ⬇️⬇️⬇️

2. The best Service.

Especially if your prices are high.
And especially if you are about to raise a price.

People want to be welcomed. They want to be heard. All you have to do is listen and adapt to their needs. (For example: if your client wants to be quiet- let her/him do it.

3. Time management.

These days people are in a rush. If you are a perfectionist and taking forever to get a service done, people won’t appreciate it. Trust me. Clients might not even notice some mistakes that you have done. Try to understand the difference between mistakes that need to be fixed and imperfections that the client won’t notice.

Yesterday I was watching videos with financial experts. They were talking about taxes, finances and legacy of the small business.

The more I learn about it, the more I realize that’s it’s extremely important to count how much I make and how much I spend.

As soon as I started my nail business, I decided to be legal in all aspects.
I didn’t want to be scared of IRS, state board, or unhappy client.

But I wasn’t even realizing what kind of other expenses there can be besides paying taxes and having your business registered as sole proprietor.

Here are some topics I’m planning to focus on it the future:

1. Switch sole proprietor to LLC.
2. Setting up an IRA.
3. Life insurance.
4. Business insurance.
5. Investment.

Sounds like a lot but being a foreign in US I would like to know how the system works in the country.

Every time I Increase my prices,
20-30% of clientele is leaving.

It’s normal thing; it has to be like that.

Usually I send a text message 1 or 1,5 months in advance to let my clients to decide if they wanna keep their appointments, schedule a future one or cancel it!

One time the lady said: “Your price is crazy, I don’t get it why it cost so much?!”

At first I started to doubt.
- What if it’s really too much?!

Than I got mad. I was like in my thoughts:
- Omg what do you mean too much?! I work so hard, I bend my back all day, I breathe nail dust, I focus on every detail, my back is killing me at the end of the day etc.

But than I took a breath and texted her: “I appreciate your time, thank you for being my client.

The bottom line of this story is - Know your value, don’t let other people get you down because a Ferrari is not for everyone! 😁
