This year, we’re thoughtfully integrating principles we believe are shaping the future of wellness design, and are here to stay.
Swipe through to explore the ideas shaping our projects and creating more connected, personalized, and deeply rooted experiences.
Textural Design:
Texture is a powerful tool in wellness design, creating sensory-rich environments that blur the boundaries between indoors and out through materiality, light, sound, and touch.
Sustainability + Biophilic Design:
Designing with nature, not just for it. We’re integrating sustainable strategies and biophilic principles to ground guests in place while creating spaces that give back to the environment.
AI + Technology:
Thoughtfully integrating technology to create more personalized wellness experiences, from intelligent equipment and diagnostics to customized nutrition, recovery, and health journeys.
Evening Activations:
Wellness doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down. Evening and nighttime programming creates new opportunities to activate spaces, extend utilization, and connect guests with the outdoors in new ways.
Wellness for All Ages:
Wellness is for everyone. We’re expanding programming to engage multiple generations, creating opportunities for children, families, and adults to experience wellbeing together.
Together, these shifts point toward a more holistic future for wellness, one that is more personalized, connected to nature and place, technologically informed, and designed to support wellbeing across every stage of life.
“A trip to one of these places may represent a once in a lifetime event. But it also might just change your life forever.”— Vogue
We’re honored to see two TLEE Spas projects, Kilolani Spa at Grand Wailea and Halehouse Spa at Stanly Ranch, featured in Vogue’s 2026 Global Spa Guide.
From concept and programming to guest experience and design, TLEE helped shape these spaces to feel deeply connected to their destinations, creating wellness experiences that invite guests to slow down, reconnect, and experience a true sense of place.

Have you ever gone to a place and felt a destination whisper its name, not in a language you speak, but in one your body already knows?
Every destination carries its own energetic signature, a composition of natural environment, cultural tempo, ancestral and elemental intelligence. A living vibration shaped by its geology, history, people, elements, and rhythm. Most of us pass through destinations without ever truly tuning in, but when we connect into the frequency of a place, we understand what a place is actually made of, and when we connect on an energetic level something shifts inside of us.
In our recent collaboration with Midjourney Spa, TLEE led the experiential wellness journey, where frequency became a guiding design principle. Rather than viewing recovery and wellness as a treatment or physical sensation, we explored how sound, light, water, rhythm, and spatial design can work together to create environments that support regulation, presence, and restoration.
As Jeanine shares, “We leaned into the concept of ‘frequency as medicine’ and how this is being blended into so many aspects of a spa environment to create a fully supported sensory experience. These insights become the foundation, shaping the theme, design, and programming of the space. When a design is truly aligned with the energetics of a place, guests feel it, even if they can’t quite name it. It registers as resonance; a deeper, more meaningful impression that lands on a sensory, almost cellular level.”
The project reflects a broader shift in wellness. Wellness is no longer just about a spa appointment, a yoga class, or a sauna experience, but about the journey from arrival to departure, and everything in between.
Elementally attuned design isn’t just a philosophy, but also a measurable advantage. When programming is rooted in the true energetics of a location, it creates genuine differentiation in an oversaturated market. And when a guest experience is built from ancestral and elemental intelligence, it can’t be replicated elsewhere.

What happens before a spa concept and vision is designed?
Today, Jeanine Allpress-Cliffe, President & Managing Director of TLEE Spas + Wellness explains her process of site discovery and how those thoughts unfold into the bigger picture of a wellness journey. With a background spanning psychology, art therapy, somatic healing, elemental energies, and decades in luxury hospitality, Jeanine brings a deeply experiential perspective to wellness design.
Before curating the concept and vision of a wellness journey, her process begins with visiting the site, and observing the land, listening to its rhythms, and understanding the elemental qualities already present. From there, those discoveries and themes become the foundation of the concept and are funneled down into concrete deliverable, ensuring concepts can be translated into a design and program that supports and honors the overall frequency and intelligence of a destination .
“This isn’t a technique I apply, but a dialogue I enter,” Jeanine shares. “By letting the land’s intelligence guide where structures rise, paths wind, and energy gathers. What emerges is wellness programming in true relationship with place: grounded, elementally attuned, and alive.”
Her process is about understanding the intelligence of a place and allowing the land, its elements, and its energy to inform the experience. The result is programming that feels deeply rooted in its surroundings, authentic to the destination, and intentional in every detail.

How can wellness and technology coexist?
When renowned AI lab Midjourney approached us to collaborate on their flagship spa, this is what we found ourselves asking.
How do you create a sanctuary for wellness and connection where technology and the natural environment work as one?
The result is a design that blends the classic spa experience with forward thinking wellness technology that grounds guest experience built on human connection, proactive prevention, and ritualistic view of health and wellness.
As guests move through the experience, they will discover thermal circuit plunge pools and saunas, a fitness offering, Midjourney-developed full-body scanners, live music, communal tea experiences, and touchless treatments, each element celebrates the power of sound, light, water, and architecture.
Biophilic design is woven into the fabric of the guest journey through soft washes of golden light, the sound of live music, water features, and natural materials that integrate nature into built environments and provide a deep sense of place.
As our President + Managing Director, Jeanine Allpress-Cliffe, shares , “The future of wellness has moved beyond the spa experience, towards a more holistic, community-driven approach. There is a need for spaces where people can gather, reconnect, and experience wellbeing through the intersection of science, hospitality, nature, and meaningful connection.”
