When death results from an illicit controlled substance, the classification is not accidental overdose — it is homicide.

We demand investigation and prosecution for every illicit controlled substance that results in fatal or non-fatal poisonings.
Under state drug-induced homicide statutes, general homicide laws, and federal controlled-substance offenses, every individual in the chain of delivery of illicit drugs may be investigated and held criminally accountable when the evidence establishes unlawful delivery and causation.

Criminal liability is not negated by:
The absence of a monetary exchange
The absence of force, threats, or coercion
The absence of intent to kill or poison
The absence of knowledge that death or poisoning would result
The fact that the delivery was between acquaintances or friends
The fact that the delivery was made to support the deliverer’s own addiction
The presence of multiple substances, combined drug toxicity, or more than one unlawful supplier
Where unlawful delivery results in death, the offense constitutes homicide, and there is no statute of limitations for murder under federal law and the laws of most states.
Causation is not defeated merely because multiple drugs or multiple suppliers are involved. Courts routinely recognize that unlawful delivery need only be a but-for cause, proximate cause, or contributing cause, depending on jurisdiction—not the sole cause.
Sound, evidence-based investigations recognize a well-documented reality: individuals typically consume the drugs they obtain; they do not stockpile illicit substances while continuing to purchase additional quantities from multiple sources.

Now is the time to pioneer a nationwide standard that treats illicit drug poisonings—fatal and non-fatal—as serious criminal acts, not inevitable accidents.
