Why did I switch almost completely to HARD GEL? 👀

Because once I really understood structure, flexibility and product behavior… it just made sense for the type of work I wanted to create.

Hard gel gives me the control I need to build a thin but strong structure, correct different nail shapes, reinforce weak areas and create that clean, seamless finish without unnecessary bulk.

What I personally love about it:

• Strong, stable structure
• Great control when correcting downward or uneven nails
• Beautiful reinforcement for short natural nails
• Less bulk when the structure is built correctly
• Easy to rebalance during maintenance
• Reliable retention for my clients
• So many different viscosities and levels of rigidity to choose from depending on the nail

BUT ! and this is important, simply switching to hard gel will NOT magically fix your retention.

You still need to understand the natural nail, proper prep, product chemistry, which gel to choose, where to place your structure and how much product you actually need.

Because not every hard gel works for every nail.

That knowledge is what makes the difference.

And this is exactly what we go deeper into during my Russian Manicure trainings — not just HOW to apply product, but WHY we choose it and how to create safe, thin, long-lasting structures.

Day 3 is always a BUSY one at NailDar Academy 😅
So much to catch up on, questions to answer, little adjustments to make, and that excitement when everything they’ve learned finally starts connecting. Honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of teaching. 🤍

And… another day, another challenging model for my beginner student.

Our model had been doing her own nails at home — thick structure, rubber base leaking into the sidewalls and nail folds, and an over-filed shape that needed correction. All of that makes clean cuticle work and rebuilding the structure even more challenging.

But challenging cases teach you SO much.

We corrected what needed to be corrected, worked through the cuticles with the proper technique, rebuilt a clean, thin structure… and of course I had to finish her training with RED. Because if you can master a flawless red application, you’re ready for business.

And speaking of business, we ended the day talking about pricing, adjusting her services, and how to move forward confidently with her new skills.

She came to me performing only regular manicure techniques and is leaving ready to transition into Russian/Dry Manicure — and I’m SO proud of the progress she made in just 3 days.

She absolutely killed it. 🎓✨

Today’s model was definitely a challenging one — tricky cuticles + upward-growing nails + damaged/weak nail plates! This is honestly the kind of model case I’d normally choose for an ADVANCED class — tricky cuticles, upward-growing nails, definitely not the easiest case. And that’s exactly why I loved it! My beginner student absolutely KILLED IT.

So proud of how she handled the challenge!

And of course… French tips! 😍 One of my absolute favorites to teach, and in my classes, mastering a clean French is a MUST

This client achieved this beautiful result in about 4 months, but that timeline is different for every single person. Some cases may take several more months, a year, or even longer.

It all depends on the type and severity of the trauma, how long the nail has been affected, the natural growth rate, daily habits and pressure, and most importantly — consistency with care and follow-up appointments.

There’s no magic overnight fix. We assess, follow the progress, adjust the care when needed, and let the healthy nail do what it needs to do.
