Coming in a few days late but Happy three months to this little firecracker ๐Ÿงจ! Three months has brought giggles, smiles, and LOTS of chatting. Her favorite person in the world is her brother and she makes sure he knows it. ๐Ÿฅฐ. These early newborn months are so challenging but so so precious and are quickly slipping through our fingers.

I admit that I spend a lot of time living for the future... dreaming, worrying, planning, hoping, praying. It's one of the reasons why meditation is so grounding for me... it just tugs my little balloon back to earth. ๐ŸŽˆโ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

One of the hardest things Iโ€™ve had to navigate during postpartum (once again) is getting to the end of the day and having no idea where my time went. Until I started this trick I'm about to share with you, I felt like I spent my days bouncing around the house starting one thing only to be interrupted by a hungry baby or a daycare pickup and not knowing where I left off or even what I had been doing. Iโ€™m not someone who does well with interruptions or distractions which unfortunately just goes hand in hand in with child rearing, ha!

So here is a simple tip for you if you feel yourself getting to the end of the day and feel like you haven't crossed a single thing off your list:

By breaking bigger things up in this way I'm actually able to accomplish MORE in a day because I can jump right into something and bang it out.

Here are some examples of tiny tasks:

-fold a basket of laundry

-cut and prep ingredients for dinner

-respond to two pressing emails

-break a work project into tiny tasks (very meta, I know)

-do a cleaning blitz with my 2 yr old (as much as we can put away together in 10 minutes)

Your time is a precious and valuable thing, so don't let your days be dictated by circumstance or pressured by daunting todos that seem impossible to complete. Instead, plan your days with tiny tasks, nourish your body, and find rest - now THATโ€™S worth your time.

Do you see your time as your most valuable commodity?

As Mamas, we are pulled in a hundred different directions, with so many requests and tasks clamoring for our time. But ultimately WE have control of our time.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
So today, before saying YES to anything and everything, ask yourself:
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โญ๏ธIs it worth the energy this will take from the rest of my day?
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โญ๏ธIs it worth the value I place on my time?
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โญ๏ธWill it bring me joy once it is done or while Iโ€™m doing it?

If the answer to any of these is YES, go for it! If it is NO, maybe itโ€™s time to take a step back and say โ€œnot todayโ€ (because guess what, itโ€™s okay to say no!)

Isla is 7 weeks old today! The smiles are already big and bold and the adorable baby coos are just starting. She loves her swing but insists on joining us at the table for dinner. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

She likes being held by her big brother which melts my heart. He likes to "hold" her just long enough to give her a kiss on the head. Then he'll look up at me and says, "Aw done." ๐Ÿ˜‚. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

We all like to go on strolls around the block in the afternoon before dinner, pick flowers, and hope for a chance to see our neighbor's horse. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

The biggest difference between Renley and Isla at this age? The BLOWOUTS. Y'all I didn't TRULY understand what a blowout was until this little lady ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ. I mourn the loss of our ignorance lol. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

He likes to stop the swing while she's sleeping to give her a kiss. This usually wakes her up. Adorable but also like whyyyy.

She likes being held by her big brother (with mama hands hovering).

He likes to hold her just long enough to give her a kiss on the head. Then he'll look up at me and says, "Aw done." ๐Ÿ˜‚.

We ALL like to go on strolls around the block in the afternoon before dinner, pick flowers, and hope for a chance to see our neighbor's horse.

Having a newborn and a toddler is never easy but we're finding so much daily joy with the two of them. ๐Ÿ’•

P.S. The biggest difference between Renley and Isla at this age? The BLOWOUTS. Y'all I didn't TRULY understand what a blowout was until this little lady ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ. I mourn the loss of our ignorance lol.
