True or false: “lightening” your hair is really just a term for highlights.
Tell me in the comments before reading the answer!
Shout out to all of my clients who are ready for their next appointment but don’t know what their hair needs! Swipe for tips on what to book!
It’s funny, it doesn’t matter how long someone’s been getting their hair lightened - 9 times out of 10, they aren’t aware that there are actually three different lightening services I offer for all of my returning guests to choose from, and they’re all completely unique!
Keep on reading to learn about the differences and benefits of each individual service 👇🏼👇🏼
☀️Full Lightening service - this is great for anyone who wants to add a lot of dimension to their hair, has hair that’s never been colored before and wants a lighter look, or someone who likes their hair around their neckline to be blended with the rest of the dimension in the hair.
👉🏽 recommended 1-2x a year
👉🏽 covers highlights from the nape of your neck to your front hairline and everything in between
👉🏽 not service specific (covers all lightening services including balayage, baby-lights, and more traditional)
☀️Partial Lightening Service - this is more of a maintenance service for someone who already has added dimension to their hair, or for someone who just wants to accentuate their natural hair color.
👉🏽 covers lightening from the crown of the head to the hairline.
👉🏽 recommended every 10-12 weeks
☀️Face Frame Lightening- can any one say money piece? Schedule this if you want the hair around your front hairline to be brighter and to pop! This service is not recommended for someone who doesn’t have any existing dimensional color, unless you’re trying to be trendy🙌🏼
👉🏽 covers highlights around the face and part line
👉🏽 perfect for in-between full lightening services

I’m not crying, you’re crying. 😅😅
I’m so glad I made you feel heard Tam. I feel so grateful that by doing what I love I can help anyone feel a little bit more like themselves. For this lovely client, all we did was a haircut, and even that can make such a huge difference!!
I’m blown away when people are willing to share a bit of their experience when they sit in my chair, and I’m beyond touched with these kind words.
I am now booking for April and my books are filling up fast. 🙏🏼 Dm me or click the link in my bio to get your appointment!

Many times I want to hop on here and be my “authentic self” like all of the IG gurus say to be… but in reality, I don’t really know how to do that. Can anyone else relate?
I find myself scratching my head and wondering what to say, and not knowing how much is too much, or how little is too little. I mean, how many times can I actually say that I love coffee? Apparently it’s a lot.
So, this is me. I’m Riane. 👋🏼
I’m a little sweet, a little sassy (ok, A LOT), and little bit of a nerd. I love hanging out with my husband, I miss spending time with all my friends, and my 11 year old lab Esme is GIVING ME LIFE right now, because she is the snuggliest of snuggle bears.
When I’m not working my hardest to help you love the “hair your in,” I also love to dance around my living room, drink coffee with reckless abandon (see, it’s a lot), and watch tv until my butt and my couch are basically the same thing (while thinking about how I should be doing some yoga).👀 🤷♀️ Lately my husband and I have been obsessed with catching up on all of my favorite home improvement shows, and crime documentaries on Netflix.
SO, there you go! Me in a long-wordy-nutshell. 🙃
Tell me about you, what are some things that make you, YOU?

There’s nothing more I love as a stylist than being able to transform a look for you and your loved ones! Swipe to see the transformation I created on one of my favorite couples!
For it was wayyyy past time for a cut. She loves her hair to look as loud as a lions mane so I added some rounded layers that would allow her to keep her length, give her plenty of volume and accentuate her gorgeous natural texture.
Her hubby has been on a journey to super long hair, but had a pesky undercut growing out. I gave him two options: a) keep the length and add layers and deal with the undercut, or b) go short enough so it can all grow out together. B was the answer and now he has some style and his journey to longer hair will be much easier!
Ps. Did you know I cut men’s hair too? Give me a 🙌🏼 if you love a good transformation?

It’s always a journey when a client who loves to keep her hair red sits in your chair and says she wants to go blonde. (Enter small panic attack here) Ok-ok, it’s not really THAT bad—but, red is the hardest color to keep in your hair, and equally as hard to get rid of! 😅😅
The health of her hair was, and always is, my biggest priority. So as we approach her lighter and brighter blonder goals — we are going to take the slow and low approach. For our first session. we started with a partial highlight to give her some more blended, lighter pieces.
Luckily she loves to embrace the warmer tones & was happy with this beautiful golden blonde result.
I personally love this cut/color combo on her! What do you think?

How it’s felt to get back in the salon? I don’t think there are enough “HIP HIP Hoorayyys” in the world to describe how excited I am!
Yes, I know, people don’t really say things like that anymore, but I like my quirky little sayings, and I stand by them. 🤷🏻♀️
I will be forever grateful for the lightbulb of creativity that comes on when I get to focus on creating the hair of my clients dreams. It is amazing how many different approaches you can take to create a look that might feel similar to the naked eye, but it’s totally customized to that persons hair type, skin tones, texture, and style.
Also, I was in dire need of some socialization!! Sorry if I talk your ear off when I see you back in the studio for the first time since our —I don’t know how many times we’ve been shut down now. I’m just so excited to see you..OK!
Anyone else out there using a trip to the salon as a substitute for happy hour??

I can’t wait to be back in my happy place✨
According to the governor I could be back in a few weeks! I’m so grateful that I have my own studio and can provide an isolated, & safe environment for my guests.
In order to keep everyone safe there will have to be some changes, but in this case change is good.
For example, I will be wearing a mask throughout your entire service, as well as changing aprons and protective wear between guests.
All surfaces, door handles, and tools will be thoroughly sanitized after use.
Since hair school I have been taught to uphold the highest sanitation standards in order to prevent the spread of illness and bacteria, but to take that knowledge a step further I have become certified in Covid-19 specific sanitation standards.
I look forward to seeing you all again when the “new” normal begins.
In the meantime, if you are struggling with dull or troublesome hair, I am offering virtual consultations to get you through to your next appointment.
Just book through the online website!
Stay safe and healthy, and I’ll see you soon! 🙋🏼♀️☺️

Feeling the transition into fall over here! I’m loving the darker, rich tones that my clients are requesting! I recently started doing a mini-treatment on all of my clients using the In Common products I just acquired. This silky smooth hair is courtesy of said products! Looks and feels smoother, shinier, and softer. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I am so lucky that I get to play a small part in helping people feel like their best selves. There is so much more to being a hairstylist than making people look good. I know when I was younger, I loved going to the hairstylist because of how good I felt when I left. I always felt somehow a little more like myself than when I went in. ⠀⠀
I consider myself lucky if that’s the feeling my clients take away at the end of their appointment. I want them to feel heard, understood, and fully expressed! It can be hard finding that hairstylist who just gets you and your goals, and when I can make that connection I consider it a job well done!
