First, let’s a talk about why we get these little hairs that don’t want to lay down! Static can be from the weather, the sweater you put on that morning, or even from your own fingers! It’s exacerbated by silver hair (let’s face it, these wire-y guys always want to stand up), post-partum hair, and your natural shed cycle.
When we have this baby hair halo, we usually try two things: sticky products and to smooth it out with our hands. Both might work for a moment, but you glance in the mirror again and it’s worse than ever! We have to neutralize that static before we can keep a consistent style.
Your hand creates static electricity buildup by exchanging electrons with other materials. When you touch objects, you create an imbalance of electric charge and that charge stays on your body until it suddenly discharges. Usually when you touch something conductive like metal! The hairspray bottle discharges those electrons and ends with static for good!
