I literally hear this from my clients all the time and I’m gonna admit it’s not easy… having bleached/colored hair is a lifestyle! Here’s my top 3 tips for clients to maintain their hair integrity and color longevity at home:

If you like sleeping in - SAVE this for later!

I know school is back in session and for some of you, WFH time is up and y’all returning back to the office… that means getting makeup and hair done for the day every morning! 😩

Sleep is precious… if you want to save 15 minutes from getting ready, I got you!

Here’s a few tips on how to extend the life of your hair style and keep it looking good for several days:

1. Dry shampoo at night! This will help absorb the oils while you sleep 😴

2. Sleep on satin or silk pillowcases to reduce frizz! 💆🏻‍♀️

3. Loosely braid your hair or tie a pineapple bun on top of your head - always use satin or silk scrunchies to prevent breakage! 🎀

Could I just be really honest? It’s not always all sunshine and rainbows over here…

I know I always talk about how much I love my job a lot… because I truly do!

But I think it’s important to not just post the highlights on social media. Not everyday is perfect and there are aspects of every job that aren’t super enjoyable.

I just wanna keep it real here and share the parts of my job that can be difficult…

1. My back! Spending all day with my arms up foiling and blow drying… or bent over a shampoo bowl has taken a real toll on my back 😩

2. Last minute cancellations and no shows. It always bums me out when people don’t show up to their appointments… if you don’t show up then I don’t get paid for the day and the amount of stress that comes with scrambling to find another client to fill the spot 🥲

3. Two words: SOCIAL MEDIA! It sometimes sucks that keeping up with social media trends and posting consistently is another requirement for small businesses now. They say it’s the only way to grow now a days but it honestly takes a huge toll on my mental health… hence why I sometimes go MIA for a social media detox 😣

Even though these aspects of being a hairstylist aren’t all sunshine and rainbows, hanging out with the my clients and making them feel their best makes it all worth it! Please enjoy my never ending backlog of photos/videos that I never post; don’t come at me 😂
