Hi, it's me! Jennifer, Jen, Jenny, Gypsy girlie. I thought I might pop on and reintroduce myself to my new followers.
I've been a licensed cosmetologist for over 30 years. I specialize in all things hair color and keratin treatments. I also do haircuts, perms with maybe a little sprinkle of therapy on top.
I've owned multiple salons, big and small and currently I'm in a private suite that I absolutely love. 💕

A friend of a friend is gathering donations for the LA fire victims. They are looking for canned food items, non-perishable, food items, toiletries, personal care items, diapers, and any gently used clothing. Please drop off to the salon between 10:00 and 4:00 on Friday and Saturday and I will be sure and get everything to them by Saturday night so they can take it on Sunday.

Reposted from Back in the day, we would tell our clients to come in with dirty hair because the color “took” better. Most of us don’t even know where the hell we heard that from! But we believed it!

I personally think we were taught that because when the hair had a ton of oil built up on the scalp, it didn’t burn as bad when we slapped super aggressive hair color on it!

Here’s the good news… Hair color has evolved over the last few decades. Many hair color brands have not just lessened the amount of ammonia, some have even eliminated it completely!

This creates a gentler experience for the client, however… It requires a clean canvas to get the best result.

Back in the day, it seemed like hair color could eat through just about freaking anything that was on the hair… It’s not like that anymore!

If you struggle with your hair color fading fast or the gray, not covering – this could be the number one reason why! So do your stylist a solid… Shampoo your hair before coming in :-)

Yesterday I got to give this handsome guy a big chop! Almost 10 inches to be exact. This is my nephew and he's been growing his hair since 2020. What a difference a hair cut can make.
