Last week was my first time back to work in a long hot minute. It was full of all sorts of emotions. A very bittersweet day.
I cried on the drive to work after I dropped off Bear. Not that I don’t trust or feel completely safe with my sister in law. I know he is in the hands with her and that she loves him dearly! But leaving him behind was so hard! This was the start of me being absent in small parts of his life even if it was for a tiny bit. I know he would never see it that way, but that’s how I felt. I really missed my baby!
I was so lucky to have one my dearest friends and fellow working mama be my first client back. It made the transition so much easier for me and she helped me with the guilt I was currently feeling. The rest of the week went much better and I have a whole new level of deep love and respect for working mamas.
So here’s to another work week! I’m so lucky to have the job that I do! To be able to spend the time I need with my baby. And the time I need to spend at the salon. I love my job and I love each and every one of my clients. Thank you for being so loving, patient, and kind. I am grateful to have you in my chair and in my life! You have made me want to expand my circle a little bit more.

Ok, I’m missing being at the salon! As excited as I am to be so close to finally meeting Bear, I would have loved to finish out a few creative projects before I left.

One of my top recommendations for keeping your hair and extensions healthy, is using an oil. EVERY. SINGLE DAY. Yes, EVERYDAY. I even recommend 2x a day!
I know that sounds like a lot but guess what. It’s so dry here in Utah and extensions don’t create their own oils like our natural hair does.
When extensions dry out, they break, and they break fast. Your hair will last you almost twice as long if you’re keeping up in your oil! Sounds so silly, but I SWEAR by it.
Put in oil right before you go to bed. Load it up! Your hair will soak it up by the time morning comes around so apply more than you think, like almost to the point you think you added too much! In the morning add a little bit more right when you wake up. It will feel so much smoother, shinier, and just appear more healthy.
My top favorite oils are

I will be closing my doors tentatively until April. This decision was not made lightly. I have been so torn and coming to this has been so difficult!
They recently announced that pregnant women are now classified as high risk for COVID-19. As well as SLCO’s regulations to keep a 6ft distance, something that is just physically impossible to do with my job, I cannot take the risk with myself or Bear.
I love all of my clients dearly, and will be reaching out to all clients to make the proper arrangements necessary.
