It’s been 12 days since my dad went to be with Jesus.
Writing these words doesn’t feel real.
If you knew my relationship with my dad, even for a minute, you would know how deep my love for my dad goes, and how deep his love for me went.
I like to think if you lined me up at a daddy’s girl competition, I would win by a long shot.
If you’ve been a client of mine long enough, you may have seen him drop off some lunch or donuts or something and even make a little “She’s gonna do a great job on your hair” comment on his way out.
Man, I’m gonna miss that so much…
I will be returning to work this week, and I have to admit - I feel nervous. I never know what will trigger my grief or when it will come up. My hope is that every guest has patience and grace for me during this time.
I have so many people to thank:
First of all, Jess, for communicating with all my clients and handling my books during my absence, and all the girls I work with for taking on the extra load without me having to lift a single finger.
My best friend, Miranda and family. For organizing a meal train and raising money for my family so I can take off time from work. My pastor who called me frequently just to check up on me and make sure I had everything I needed. My church that prayed for me, reached out to me, & met my needs. I love you.
My sister and cousins and more family that showed up taking care of my house and Sunny and I when I didn’t have the strength.
My husband Johnny who has literally been holding me up the whole time. Praying for me, stepping up in ways I didn’t even have to ask for.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Find Jesus & find your community. Sometimes it happens at the same time just like it did for me. It makes a difference when your world completely falls apart.
Dad - I miss you with all my heart and soul. I don’t know why I’m going to live the rest of my life without you, but I do know how Jesus is going to carry me like He has my whole life. I have hope that I will see you again. And I cannot wait.

Since my move, my business has grown nearly 50%
👉 I’ve seen 122 NEW guests
👉 Completed 154 MORE services than the year before
& most shockingly,
👉 My books went from being 65% full to ➡️ 95% full 🫢
I remember feeling so scared to move salons out of fear that my clients wouldn’t follow me, that maybe I wouldn’t grow like I had hoped, or not enjoy the space and people like I expected.
And truly, my last year has been nothing like I expected…It’s been way, way better.
When people ask me how business is going, I have not much to say other than “It’s the best thing I’ve done.”
I can’t even take credit, genuinely I give God all the glory for how He has carried me through ALL of it.
I hope each guest I see can FEEL my passion for this industry. Can FEEL genuine care and excellence when I service them.

This 5 month blonding journey has been such an exciting “trust the process” transformation 😍
🗓️ When my guest came in, she had a dream of being a bright, blended, healthy, dimensional blonde for her wedding day in 6 months.
I came up with a plan that was going to help inch her towards her goals (without compromising her hair) while allowing her natural hair to continue to grow for optimal dimension that won’t fade 👩💻
1st appt: I added some lowlights to break up her current blonde, root melt for a softer blend and an overall gloss to help cancel some warmth 💍
2nd appt: Partial Lived-In Look to start brightening up around the face, give the bride a pre-view of what to expect, while keeping majority of her hair untouched to save integrity 👰♀️
3rd appt: Full Lived-In Look for maximum blonding, retouched around the face, tip outs on all the ends for that fresh, bridal glow. By this time her roots grew in enough to give that dimensional pop that will never fade or expose warmth 🏆
🌳 All of this could only be done with the patience and trust of this bride giving me full permission to do what was best for her hair in the moment, knowing she will be reaping benefits long-term if we take it slow.
