Woman, 108, Who Still Drives a Car and Lives on Her Own Has 5 Simple Tips for a Long Life 07/26/2026

It’s not “How Long” we live, but “How Well” we live (IMO). Here’s some “Wisdom of the Aged” that reveals “How to do Both.”

Woman, 108, Who Still Drives a Car and Lives on Her Own Has 5 Simple Tips for a Long Life The centenarian just renewed her driver’s license until 2033 and lives in her own house. She exercises every day and prizes her independence. “I take care of myself,” she says.

No question. “HOW” we Age is a Choice.

To “Grow Old” regardless of age, simply “do nothing” to lose strength, stability, flexibility, mobility, balance & mental capacity.

To “Age Young,” Strong, Fit, Lean, Healthy, Mentally Sharp & relatively Pain-Free, follow this 6-Point Plan:

1) Commitment
2) Prioritization
3) Planning
4) Discipline
5) Consistency
6) Effort

Make a COMMITMENT to your Health, and PRIORITIZE your Self, just as we do when we fly and are told to put the oxygen mask on ourselves first. DISCIPLINE creates Habit, so it’s only a matter of time before it becomes Lifestyle. CONSISTENCY is Key in that doing some form of exercise every day will produce results, while inconsistency leads to frustration and risks injury. And..Nothing worth doing or achieving ever comes without EFFORT. So, LET’s GOOOO!!!

Clear, succinct information on “Resistant Starches.” 🍚🥔 🍌

This is especially important for Pre-Diabetics and all who are concerned about becoming Diabetic, whether by genetic propensity or dietary habits.

DIABETES RISK FACTORS:

Type 1 diabetes is thought to be caused by an autoimmune reaction (the body attacks itself by mistake). No one knows how to prevent type 1 diabetes.

Known risk factors include:

* Family history: Having a parent, brother, or sister with type 1 diabetes.

* Age: You can get type 1 diabetes at any age, but it usually develops in children, teens, or young adults.

In the United States, White people are more likely to develop type 1 diabetes than African American and Hispanic or Latino people.

Pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes share almost all of the same risk factors.

If you already have pre-diabetes, this is an added risk factor making you more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes.

You're at risk for both pre-diabetes AND Type 2 diabetes if you:

* Are overweight or obese.
* Are age 45 or older.
* Have a parent or sibling with Type 2 diabetes.
* Are physically active less than 3 x a week.
* Have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
* Have ever had gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy) or given birth to a baby who weighed over 9 pounds.
* Are an African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian, or Alaska Native person. Some Pacific Islander people and Asian American people also have a higher risk.

REDUCE YOUR RISK:

Some risk factors like age and family medical history can't be helped. But there are some things you can do to reduce your risk of prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, or gestational diabetes.

Some behavior changes to lower your risk include:

*Increasing physical activity.
*Eating a healthy diet.
*Losing weight if you are overweight or obese.

Small, gradual changes can make a big difference in lowering your risk of prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, or gestational diabetes, and improving your overall health and wellness. It's never too late or too early to get started.
