I finally posed for Lucia. I was hesitant.
The past few years, for me, have been so difficult. I’ve been broken-down, broken-hearted, felt like a failure in so many ways. I was betrayed by a trusted employee to a point where my business nearly crashed. My faith in most of humanity was destroyed.
My nearest and dearest still believed in me. Dear, wonderful Lucia kept begging me to take my portraits… I put her off forever, feeling so low of self-esteem.
She took this photo and others a few weeks ago. It’s raw, it’s me. I’m 44 and proud that I’ve gone through the ringer and come out intact somehow.
I could not have done it wit hour those who love and truly believe in me (I cry as I type this)….. I could not have gotten through the past year without you. I am forever grateful for you, and you know who you are.
I am especially grateful to Lucia, for making me feel beautiful. Girl, I love you to the moon….. and back.
