•PRODUCT COSTS•
I spend thousands per month because I choose to use the best & most updated products for my clients.
Yes, there are cheaper professional products that I can use for my clients, but I choose the higher-end products that have a good reputation because,
quality over quantity.

+ the new techniques require a lot of product, even on just one head of hair. For just one client, I tend to use about 1-3 different tubs of bleach, 1-5 different developers, 1-10 different colors/toners, a TON of foil, and other hair products & tool essentials depending on hair goals, length, density, & type of hair I am working with.

With the beauty industry constantly evolving, there is always a new and improved product or technique coming out. So we are continually investing into our craft to better our services and stay updated with trends.

•ADDITIONAL EXPENSES•
Expenses that come with being an independent stylist include, salon insurance, salon/booth rent (depending on the city/state you’re in, can be more expensive), continued education, licensing fees, booking websites, marketing, taxes (taxes can be VERY expensive especially if you’re a sole proprietor. I personally suggest changing to an LLC), we have to take care of our retirement plan, life insurance, disability insurance, health insurance, etc.

Most stylists price their services based on their supply & demand.
If a particular stylist doesn’t fit within your budget, that’s okay! There are so many amazing stylists with different price ranges for everyone’s budget🤍
