Dear Salon Vox Community,

We know that this year has been full of new realities that have forced all of us to make adjustments to our daily lives, and that these transitions have not all been easy. Being away from the salon we’ve missed the environment of laughter, creativity, and community with our clients and coworkers. At Vox, we love what we do and it was palpable. Which makes it even more difficult to announce that Salon Vox will be closing permanently.

Because the salon has only been open for about three months of this year, we already have established protocols for house calls and home established areas and they are running smoothly. If you’d like to get in contact with your stylist, below is a list of email addresses to reach them directly.

Vox was such a special gem to us. Thank you for your support throughout our many years on Ocean Park. We will miss working there but most of all we’ll miss you.

To our loyal clients,
Having to close our doors in March was a first for us, like many others. While the world may feel uncertain, one thing is for sure—we will get through this together, and Salon Vox will certainly be waiting for you on the other side. The lull in the chaos has given us the chance to sit and reflect on where we’ve been, and where we will go. We have been business partners and close friends for over 27 years. When we met our chemistry was instant, as we found the yin to each others yang. We were just kids, and were both looking for a new adventure in hairdressing. Our visions for the future were so similar that it just felt right to take a leap of faith and open up our own salon together. In 1992, we opened Equinox, moving into a beautiful craftsman style house in downtown Santa Monica, and made it our hairdresser haven for 10 years. As our business grew, so did our families; Carmine had two kids, Olivia and Will, and Susan had Sophia. So we decided to close Equinox and pivot to a smaller, more intimate location to focus on our personal clienteles and building a community. And thus, Salon Vox was born. We’ve now owned Vox for 18 years. Transitioning into a Bumble & Bumble salon has been a great joy for us, and we are so grateful for the community that we have. We continue to learn from each other and support each other through life’s ups and downs. One thing is for sure- we miss all of you and our work so much. We can’t wait to get back to doing what we LOVE, with the people that we love (that’s you).
