There are so many facial tools on the market, and honestly I’m here for it!

Over the next month or so I will be posting when and how to use my favorite facial tools to help elevate your skin game.

First up, facial rollers. Whether you prefer a rose quart or jade roller, it doesn’t matter, results are the same! This facial tool is inexpensive and super easy to work into your routine. It will take you three minutes tops.

First, I am most grateful for all of you, who follow me here on IG and FB, who come see me for services, and show me so much love and support. YOU MEAN THE WORLD!! THANK YOU!!

2022 has left me with so much to be grateful for. To name a few big ones:

—-I started the year off welcoming my second daughter, Mila into the world. Her silly laugh and kisses full of drool are my favorite.
—-Watching my oldest Kayley become a big sister and how amazing she is melts my heart. I could not be more proud of the person she is becoming!
—-Took a huge leap and opened up Bare Skin Beauty!! While it was nerve-racking and scary, it has been so fun and the love and support is overwhelming.
—-Huge bonus and something that makes me smile everyday is I get to work with Cher again!! Cher I cannot thank you enough for being my sound board, editor and cheerleader when I feel lost! ❤️
—-We also opened up our home to an exchange student from Germany, Ellie, making us parents of 3 girls for the year!
She couldn’t be more of a perfect fix. I don’t want her to leave in June 🥲
—And lastly, we threw a surprise wedding in October!!! my HUSBAND 😉 Danny, deserves my deepest appreciation for holding my hand through this year and believing in me through it all!!

The year isn’t even over and the list of gratitude keeps growing!! I can’t wait to see what 2023 brings. I love Thanksgiving for many reasons and enjoy reflecting on the year and finding gratitude, which I encourage you all to do daily!! What a huge shift in perspective it provides!

L’Oreal is currently in a class action lawsuit over their topical collagen product. The product states that it will “ Restore skins cushion“ and “ visibly smooth wrinkles.”
When in truth the collagen molecule is too large to pe*****te the epidermis.
L’Oreal states it did not say the moisturizer would pe*****te the skin or stimulate collagen and that reasonable consumers would not believe otherwise from the products name. US district judge Andrew Carter disagrees with L’Oreal and the process continues.

So why am I bringing this to your attention?

Marketing and advertising is a major strategy that we as consumers need to be aware of. If you do not work in the skincare industry or do not research the science of skin, you can easily be misled by these enticing and appealing tactics.

A little education on topical collagen:

-The molecule is too large to be absorbed by the skins surface.
-Those products will coat the skin which can create the appearance of less fine lines and wrinkles but not through actual absorption for hydration.
-It has not yet been proven to stimulate collagen synthesis or growth.

Fun facts about collagen:
-There are 29 types of collagen in our body over 90% being types 1-5.
-The following topical products and treatments HAVE been proven to increase collagen production:
Vitamin C
Retinoids/Retinols
Chemical Peels
Microneedling
Lasers

There are amazing products to improve our skin and we have come very far in skincare science, but tricky marketing verbiage will always exist! So, remember to do a little research or better yet find a trusty skincare provider who can help guide you through this process.
