Why are hair extensions so expensive?

There are many reasons why hair extensions are considered a luxury service. Here are my top 3 reasons:

The biggest reason…. 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝘿𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙃𝙖𝙞𝙧

1) You can either wait 1+ year to grow your hair that additional 4 inches 𝙤𝙧 invest and have 4 inches for a whole year. 🤷🏽‍♀️

2) You don’t have enough fullness naturally.
Just 𝟏 𝙧𝙤𝙬 can add all the beautiful thickness you desire.

3) Your natural hair won’t allow you to use lightener.
Hair extensions can give you 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥-𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳 and the brightness/lightness that you are wanting.

It’s time to replace your hair extensions when:

- You start to see a ton of split ends from excessive heat styling and brushing

- The color is fading quicker. I will always refresh color, but tired extensions will need more refreshing sooner as they get older.

- The wefts start to shed a lot more and will start to appear shorter than when you first got them. Your 22 inch extensions start to look more like 18 inches.

- Your extensions seem very dry and no matter how much conditioner or hair mask you use, they always seem dry.

My guest upgraded her extensions to get the length she was desiring since her old hair started to seem shorter and shorter.

Are you doing any of these 4 major mistakes when conditioning your hair?

1. Putting conditioner from roots-to-ends.

Remember conditioner is only for the mid length and ends of your hair. I recommend putting it ear level down.

2. Not fully distributing your conditioner through out the length of your hair.

I like to keep a wet brush in my shower and brush my conditioner through to ensure full distribution.

3. Not allowing your conditioner to sit and do its job.

You want your conditioner to sit for a few minutes to really get in there. don’t just add condoner and then rinse it off. Comb it through, let it sit then rinse!

4. Not rinsing your conditioner out completely.

I recommend to rinse for 1 to 2 minutes to ensure you are thoroughly rising it out.

3) If you are “working from home” that day, I have a lap-desk and wifi for you to be the awesome multitasker that you are. No interruptions during your work day.

Three reasons why you need a hydrating shampoo in these winter months.

1. the cold weather is causing all of us to crank up those heaters and that dry air is wreaking havoc on our manes causing major dryness
2. Just as much as our bodies need hydrating, so does our hair.
3. If you are wearing extensions , you definitely are needing to hydrate your extensions. Extensions need tons of hydration to ensure the longevity of your investment.

What does the maintenance schedule for extensions look like?

IBE extensions maintenance appointments are required every 8-10 weeks for scalp health and comfort. If you go longer, you have a higher risk of creating some damage to your hair and to be honest, it just isn't as comfortable. It feels like a very loose ponytail that you just want to tighten.

How to know when it’s time to replace your handtied extension wefts.

• The wefts start to shed a lot more and will start to appear shorter than when you first got them.

• the top of the wefts swell over time from exposure to moisture, like washing your hair and letting your hair air-dry. Over time that moisture starts to build and the seam of your wefts start to “bubble”. This can cause the wefts to start to break down and you will see more shedding within the wefts.

• Your hair extensions can start to have split ends from excessive heat styling and the color can be very faded and dull.
