A little asthma tale...

Reading the organs on my bestie's tongue (cool, right?)

I noticed there was a huge crack in the lung area. A tell-tale sign of scar tissue

lung scarring--->ASTHMA

Ever the student, I made a point to come back from my educational tour of India with a protocol to share with her (amoung other souvenirs!)

Now I want to share it with YOU!

And introduce you to your new plant ally, Rosesmary. (1 drop of rosemary essential oil on the chest a day does wonders for oxygenation! Get yours organic and ethically sourced from )

Asthma protocol includes
✨️Bodywork
✨️Breathwork
✨️4 step self-care to use at home daily
✨️Herbal ally intro

Book a session with me at Journey Wellness
(Or DM me and I'll help you out!)
and you will get a session of the recommended bodywork as well as a follow through protocol!

What an incredible journey through India!

Traveling from the foot of the Himalayas to the Southern rainforests, here are just a few highlights that stirred my soul:

✨️Learning Ayurvedic theory and bodywork (udvartanam & pinda bastis) with the amazing Dr. Sharma

✨️Exclusives lectures, a mind blowing astrology reading, and personal doctor consultation at Men-tsee-khang College of Astrophysics and Tietan Medicine

✨️Experiencing the kindness and grace of some of the Tibetan shop keepers as they shared their stories and their beautiful crafts with us

✨️Witnessing (and being called on stage for a demo!) Kathakali Indian Classical Dance that I couldnt take my eyes off of

✨️Slowly wandering through the oldest and largest temple i've even seen in Madurai

✨️Learning and receiving Shirodhara, a technique where warm oil is continuosly poured across the 3rd eye and forehead to balance pineal and pituitary glands. To say it's dreamy may be an understatement

There really is so much more, but thats just a taste. Today I"m back to serving at Journey Wellness. Feeling so grateful and ready to share, letting the spirit of India weave into to all of my sessions with you🙏📿🐍🕉✨️

Every single night at sunset, for thousands of years, this Ganga Aarti ritual has taken place.

Lamps are lit, hymns and chants are sung, Maa Ganga (Sacred Mother Ganges) is honored, and flowers are released into the river carrying with them whatever negativity you choose to let go of.

Of course, Im no expert by any means. But, after experiencing this ritual on a small scale with my group and the next night with masses of people, i can tell you it is powerful and even brought me to tears. It's mind blowing to participate in something with that kind of continuity.

Thank you Maa Ganga and Mother India.

This trip has been intense in pretty much every sense of the word. And Ive only posted about 1% of it! Im so excited to share more when i come back as well✨️

After a night in New Delhi, our group carried on to Norbulingka Temple in Dharamshala in the Himalayas. We stayed at Norling House in a small temple complex.

This place has already been so healing for me in ways I didnt expect (especially being smack dab in the middle of that lightning storm and my personal relationship to electricity).

The dreams I have had here, being so close to the ethers, have been extremely powerful, lucid, and relevatory.

The Tibetan, handmade  bells I was able to get here are so special, of such amazing quality and resonance, and so very, very sacred. An instant heirloom that I will pass on.
I cant wait to share these Sacred Tools with you when I return!

Until then, journey well my friends!

Cupping has been practiced in cultures all over the world for thousands of years and is still popular today.

By creating suction and negative pressure, cupping gently releases rigid soft tissue, lifts connective tissue, loosens adhesions, draws heat and lactic acid out of muscle tissue, drains excess fluids, smooths scar tissue, and brings blood flow to  stagnant skin and muscles.

Starting with warm towels, hot stones, and nourishing massage makes this a session not to be missed.

Cupping has been practiced in cultures all over the world for thousands of years and is still popular today.

These Sacred Tools can assist in athletic recovery, lymphatic facilitation, scar therapy and more.

By creating suction and negative pressure, cupping gently releases rigid soft tissue, lifts connective tissue, loosens adhesions, draws heat and lactic acid out of muscle tissue, drains excess fluids, smooths scar tissue, and brings blood flow to  stagnant skin and muscles.

Cupping can help create a sense of spaciousness in one's internal landscape and draw out of the body's tissues what no longer serves you, both physiologically and energetically.

With today's 🌑New Moon🌑, it's the perfect time to ask ourselves:

What am I ready to release and make space for?

Let's talk netra basti!

In this Ayurvedic treatment, a dough damn is formed and warm ghee is poured around the eye.
🧿
Around the eye is gently massaged, and the eye is opened wide in the bath of warm ghee, cleansing it of  debris, hydrating, and deeply nourishing the eye.
🧿
I've heard the feedback, "It feels like the relief of having a good cry without the turmoil of a good cry."
🧿
This sense of gentle relief may be due to the calming effect netra basti has on the 12 cranial nerves behind the eyes.  It's also amazing for the third eye and "cleansing the veil of illusion"
🧿
Would you try it on your eyes?

Thanks .queen.beez for being my model the day 😍

What is the lymphatic system, anyway?
💧
Essentially, it is a one-way river that moves water through our system, flushing out debris along the way. We can think of it as interchangeable with the immune system.
✨️
If the river slows or clogs, metabolic waste can accumulate, bacteria can breed more easily, we may feel run down, lethargic, and tend to get sick more easily.
💧
When the lymphatic river is flowing well, it nourishes all of the other tissues in the body, just as a healthy river carries life-giving sustenance as it flows downstream.
✨️
When you get a Sacred Tools Bodywork session at Journey Wellness we can focus on your lymphatic river, asses it's qualities, zero in on impacted, stagnant or clogged areas and use our Sacred Tools, shared intention, and follow through practices to create change

Here and there are people who know how to take good care of themselves, who live joyfully and happily. They are our strongest support. Whatever they do, they do for everyone."

Anyone else remember being encouraged to massage their baby's tummy to help with gas pains?

I do! But what about when our little ones get older, have growing pains, play sports, start having screen time, have a social life and their own set of stresses?

Self care is a family affair! Massage and bodywork for our littles, and not quite so littles, has so many benefits:
💫
Teaching them to use their voice and communicate about their bodies and boundaries
💫
Learning about safe and therapeutic touch
💫
Giving their nervous system a break by slowing down, disconnecting from screens, and co-regulating with a trusted adult
💫
Faster recovery from playing sports
💫
Deeper, more restful sleep
💫
That's just to name a few.

When I put up my massage table my son is the first to jump on! His energy and attitude are night and day afterwards. And the medicine goes both ways!

Learning to take care of ourselves is a life long journey and it's never too early to get started✨️
