👋🏻 it’s me, hi!

Hey everybody! As we round out July, I’m gently acquiescing to slower and more infrequent work here at the salon. Things aren’t as easy as they were several weeks ago, and I’m happy to surrender.
My schedule is currently as full as it’s going to get. I’ll be going from three, down to two, days a week. I set my schedule and will do my best to honor it, but I’m already struggling to meet the demands of those days, so sadly I have to decline any last minute squeeze-ins.
My wonderful salon family has made it very clear that they are ready and available to take my clients in for the time I’m away and caring for Miss Sunday! I would love to give their contact information to anybody who is looking to have their hair needs met while I’m unavailable. I’ve worked with these three women for years, and I trust them with every one of my clients. Please let me know how I can help you find accommodation here at Forty One Park, I’m available by text or dm (phone calls often get automatically filed into spam, so that’s a little risky). I look forward to navigating the next few months with everyone!

Did I mention I’ve been doing Bring Your Daughter to Work Day for about six months now? Oh, I didn’t? Haha not on here, anyway!

But the time has come to start reducing my schedule. The days are getting long, my energy is lower, and my back and feet aren’t as forgiving lately. I’ll be going away for a family vacation in June, and when I return, it will be to a 3-day work week with shorter days. My plan is to continue working for as long as I can, but me and baby’s comfort and happiness is my priority, and I’m going to listen to my body as we go along.

Many of you have asked what my plan for maternity leave is, and I say your guess is as good as mine. We all know what they say about the best laid plans, so I’m forgoing heavy planning and expectations. What I want is to be present for my clients (because I’m obsessed with you guys, ask anyone) and make sure that I’m available to you when you’re in need. So far the plan is to taper out of work, then taper back in. Our family plan is to avoid daycare and take care of our sunshine on our own, adjusting our schedules as we see fit.

I have the utmost luxury of a communal, cooperative relationship with my career and clients, and the mutual respect runs deep. I will communicate with you all here as much as possible, and I will not leave you wondering! I expect to be updating on the process and where I’m at frequently so everyone knows my status - I won’t go dark on you all! Thank you for all of persistent and enthusiastic love and support - I wouldn’t be the happy, healthy, whole person I am today without my clients, my salon team, and this career.
