𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔?
Curling irons, straighteners, blow dryers... we all know they can damage our hair, but that does not mean we can live without them!! If and how your hot tools damage your hair depends on the tools you are using. Quality hot tools minimize damage, give you better results, and last longer. It is essential that you invest in these quality tools to maintain and promote healthy hair.
Let’s talk materials. Cheap hot tools are made from a number of materials, but those materials matter. Some professional stylists recommend ceramic, tourmaline, or titanium plated hot tools. Most bargain products may claim to be ceramic or tourmaline but only have a very thin coat of the material over them that will crack and chip away over time.
Heat settings are another important thing to look for in quality styling tools. Not being able to control the heat settings for your individual hair type and needs can damage your hair. Look for hair dryers with a minimum wattage of 1800 (for fine hair) up to 3600. Having a cool shot button on your blow dryer is also important to set your look after smoothing and drying.
And don’t forget to add a heat protectant 💜

So, you want low maintenance hair, but you also aren't ready to embrace your gray... what now?
Here are my top go-to's for keeping your gray low maintenance.
1. Add highlights to your next appointment. Highlights can not only step up your hair game with dimension, but it can also help blend your gray when it starts growing in giving you a little longer between appointments.
2. Opt for a gray blending color instead of opaque gray coverage. Gray blending will give depth and lightness to the pieces being colored so you will end up with a softer grow out and softer line of demarcation. That's a win-win in my book.
3. Stick with gray blending every 2 visits and then add highlights and/or lowlights every 3 visits. Unless your base color is really dark, you don't always need highlights to break up the contrast of gray growing in. If you do color darker, stick to face framing highlights so that it will soften the lines. If you grow quickly, you may consider adding highlights to every other visit, but generally, I stick with every 3 visits.

Let's talk about finishing products!
What? Another product? Why do I need finishing products?
I consider finishing products (hairsprays, oils, and shine sprays) in a category all their own, and while many don't use them, there may be good reason to do so.
1st, they allow your final look to last longer when you give it a final spritz.
2nd, they help to add extra shine to your final look (think shine spray💎)
3rd, if you're using Coastal Color products, these products help to fight against the toxins of the environment.
For instance, Coastal Color Golden Hour Amethyst Oil can actually be used on wet and dry hair. A little goes a long way, and not only does it help smooth and shine, it helps fight against our Florida humidity! How's that for an all-around amazing product!

Blondes need contrast!! I repeat... Blondes need contrast!
I know that you want to be blonde, but unless you're ready to commit to being a heavily highlighted blonde, even blondes need contrast to make their blonde pop.
You see, the depth (or darkness) makes the blonde look bolder and brighter because it's not consumed by all lightness.
Think of it this way... the depth gives your blonde a stage to be showcased and gives it a background that enhances your blonde and allows it to take center stage rather than it all blending together.
Are you looking for bold ribbons of blonde that you can show off? Click the link in my bio to start your consultation today!

If your hair only looks good the day you leave my chair, we gotta change something in your at-home routine.
As a stylist who not only specializes in low-maintenance color and of course to give you great hair in my chair—it's also to make sure you can recreate it at home without the stress. Great hair is not about complicated routines; it is about doing the right things consistently.
Here are 10 simple tips I share with my guests to help them get better results at home:
1. Use products that actually match your hair type and texture.
2. Wash less often—most hair does better with 2–3 washes per week.
3. Keep conditioner on your mid-lengths and ends, not your roots.
4. Swap your regular towel for a microfiber towel or T-shirt to reduce frizz.
5. Never skip your Leave in conditioner or heat protectant—these 2 alone make a bigger difference than you think.
6. Stay on top of trims to keep your ends looking healthy.
7. Detangle gently, starting from the ends and working your way up.
8. Sleep on silk or satin to protect your hair overnight.
9. Add a weekly mask or deep conditioning treatment for extra hydration.
10. Focus on consistency over perfection—small habits add up.
I always tell my guests: the goal is hair that works with your life, not against it.
Save this for your next wash day, and send it to someone who is ready for easier, better hair.
