Salt and Mane

I’ve been super emotional thinking back over the last year the last few nights rocking Liam to bed and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

This year has been so hard. Michael had an invasive no surgery. He then had back surgery removing two disc that were shattered six days later I had an emergency C-section and our baby was in the Nicu for a few weeks. I should be thrilled that this year is over, but instead, I feel so much emotion. Sadness, bittersweet thankful, overwhelmed, can’t believe how fast time is going by you name it I felt it.

Tonight as I was putting my baby to bed, I finally put my finger on it. I’m sad this year is over because it’s the year I became a MOM. That may sound sappy to some people, but to me it’s everything. It’s something that I always wanted, but never knew that I needed.

I’ve always been kind of lost super happy wonderful life, but didn’t really know what my purpose was. I had a wonderful Salon that was profitable for five years straight, but that didn’t make me feel whole. I didn’t have that insane connection with my baby when I was pregnant but as soon as he was sent to the Nicu and I had to fight to get him out, I realized that my role in this life is to a MOM. I couldn’t be more thankful for this year, breaking me in making me a completely different person stronger than I ever imagined a love deeper than can be explained but as sad as I am to see it go because it’s the year that made me I can’t wait for 2026.

I will still have the pleasure of being a stay at home mom with my beautiful baby, but I will also be starting school back full-time at Georgia Southern University to finally pursue my passion. This is for me. For me to become a better person, a better mom, a better wife and to make sure I can always give my little boy exactly what he needs Because this year I found out the mom is who I am.

It should be illegal that you can’t bottle up time and save it forever
