🍫 CHOCOLATE ANISE IS BACK.

Rich cocoa, warm spice, and that unmistakable hint of anise make this one of our coziest seasonal bars.

A little dark, a little spicy, and very autumn. 🍂

Small batch + seasonal, so snag a bar while it’s here.

Fall is starting to settle into the shop 🍂

We’ve been bringing in all the things that make cooler evenings feel a little better—cozy throws, beautiful rugs, vases, mugs, and herbal teas perfect for slowing down at the end of the day.

Think: tea in your favorite mug, a blanket on the couch, something pretty on the table, and absolutely no reason to leave the house once it gets chilly.

And if you want to come soak up the fall feeling in person, join us for our upcoming Sip & Shop on Friday Sept 19 at Sweet Sprig. Bring a friend, sip something seasonal, browse the new arrivals, and spend a cozy evening with us on Jay Street.

Come see what’s new. We have a feeling you’re going to want to take a few things home. 🍁

🚨 EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MANAGEMENT 🚨

Hi. Potato here.

Apparently this Thursday is Mommy LAST SOAPMAKING CLASS OF THE YEAR.

I asked why.

She said because she is “tired.”

I understand. I myself work upwards of 15 minutes a day.

So this is your FINAL CHANCE in 2026 to come to Sweet Sprig and learn how Mommy make soap from scratch.

You will:
🧼 Make soap
🌿 Learn about ingredients
👃 Pick good smells
🎨 Make it pretty
🐶 Be supervised by someone with absolutely no soapmaking credentials

Anyway, if you have been saying ALL YEAR that you want to take a soapmaking class, this is it.

THIS THURSDAY.

Love,
Potato

Today we lost Gloria Steinem.

We at Sweet Sprig are feminists. How could we not be? We are a woman-owned business, run by women, serving so many women every day.

We are surrounded by women building businesses, raising families, making art, caring for their communities, starting over, speaking up, and figuring out what it means to live life on their own terms.

Gloria Steinem spent her life fighting for that freedom.

Today, I keep coming back to some of her words:

“I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career.”

“Listen, honey, if men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.”

“Women are always saying, ‘We can do anything that men can do,’ but men should be saying, ‘We can do anything that women can do.’”

And one that feels especially important:

"..a lot of people in this country have had the courage to raise their daughters more like their sons... But there are many fewer people who have had the courage to raise their sons more like their daughters.”

Thank you, Gloria, for being loud when women were expected to be quiet. For asking uncomfortable questions. For challenging what we had been taught to accept. And for helping generations of women imagine lives bigger than the ones prescribed for them.

The work isn't finished. Not even close.

So we keep going. ❤️

What a night! 🎨❤️

Last night’s Alt Art Night was an absolute blowout, and Jay Street was ALIVE. Thank you so much to everyone who came downtown, wandered the street, visited our businesses, supported the artists, listened to music, and helped make the night such a huge success.

And that after party at Toni's Wine Bar ? Popping off. 🍷🎶

It’s so beautiful to see what happens when artists, small businesses, neighbors, and friends all come together downtown.

And we’re not done yet! We’ve still got a couple more months of warm weather and more Art Nights ahead. We’d love to see even MORE art spilling out onto Jay Street.

We’re looking for street performers, poets, musicians, dancers, visual artists, makers, performance artists, and creatives of every kind who would like to do a short performance, demonstrate their work, or sell their art on Jay Street during upcoming Art Nights.

Have an idea that’s a little unusual? Even better.

Interested? Reach out! And thank you again, Schenectady, for showing up for art, local businesses, and each other. ❤️
