We’re SO excited to officially welcome Katelyn LoPorto to Coastal Hair Collective!

With 4 years experience, Katelyn is your girl for lived-in + dimensional color, bright blondes, seamless gray blending, and layered cuts with all the movement. She loves creating personalized looks that make her clients feel confident and their absolute best.

When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll usually find her by the water, spending time with family and friends, or loving on her two cats. 🌊☀️🐈

She’ll be behind the chair Tuesday through Saturday starting August 25th!

The products we choose matter just as much as the results we create.

Kemon’s Color System was designed with both hair health and a more conscious approach to beauty in mind. Their color formulas incorporate high percentages of naturally derived ingredients, with options like Yo Green containing up to 84% natural-origin ingredients and Yo Cond containing 88%. Their NaYo permanent color is also ammonia and fragrance-free, while still providing beautiful coverage, shine and longevity.

But what really made Kemon feel like a natural fit for Coastal goes beyond the hair. 🌊

These photos are exactly what we hope to see every time a client comes in for maintenance.

➡️ Photo 1: This is a freshly installed IBE row. Every move-up begins by completely removing the wefts from the head—not just sliding them back up. We inspect the foundation, thoroughly detangle the row, remove the natural shed hairs that have accumulated over the last several weeks, and then rebuild and reinstall the entire row from scratch.

We don’t believe in simply sliding everything back up and calling it a day. A full reinstall allows us to evenly redistribute the weight and tension, inspect the health of your natural hair, and create the cleanest, most comfortable foundation possible.

➡️ Photo 2: Fast forward 9 weeks. This is exactly what a healthy IBE grow-out should look like. Your natural hair has continued growing, and the extension row has simply grown down with it. This is what we want to see - it shows the installation has been working with your natural hair, not against it.

Healthy hair will always be our number one priority. Beautiful length and fullness are simply the result of doing things the right way.
