This time, we didn’t! 🙌🏻

This rich, dimensional red deserved its moment. We refreshed her color, brought back that beautiful brightness and shine, her old highlights from last year give us that gorgeous dimension through the ends.

One of my favorite parts of doing hair for so many years is realizing that somewhere along the way, clients turn into friends and appointments start feeling a whole lot more like catching up with family.

And apparently every once in a while, I even remember to document the hair.

Extensions are one of my favorite things to do! With each stand I’m able to completely change your hair and boost your confidence! I also want to state that the best extension method is not always what’s popular or you see the most of, it is the one that makes sense for the person sitting in my chair.

This client had previously worn weft extensions, but wanted something different this time more mobility and a different distribution of the added weight throughout her fine hair.

So for her, we chose K-tips.

But even then, I didn’t use the exact same K-tip throughout her entire head.

In the back, where she has more natural density, I used fuller K-tip bonds. As I moved toward the finer areas around the front, I customized and cut the bonds into micro K-tips so the size of the extension better matched the amount of natural hair supporting it.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve chosen to become educated and certified in multiple extension methods. Plus will always continue to further my education and certifications!

I don’t want to know how to do just one method and make every client fit into it. I want to be able to look at your density, hair type, lifestyle, goals and previous extension experience and decide what actually makes sense for your hair.

Sometimes that’s K-tips. Sometimes it’s wefts, I-tips or nano beads. And sometimes the best answer is a hybrid install using more than one method in different areas of the same head.

With finer hair especially, placement and weight distribution matter. The goal isn’t simply to add as much hair as possible, it’s to create the length and fullness you want while being thoughtful about the natural hair supporting it.

And a little bonus with this transformation: we were able to give her some of the lighter dimension she’d been wanting without coloring her natural hair. The extensions themselves became her highlights.

I’m incredibly appreciative that she trusted me with this transformation, especially when making a big change in both her hair and her extension method.

Extensions aren’t one-size-fits-all. Your install shouldn’t be either.

Big color transformations don’t always happen in one appointment. You have to trust the process!!

When we started, she had previously colored brunette hair, with a lot of bands and well frankly a mess… her end goal was for me to get her significantly lighter! My goal was to get her there while protecting the integrity of her hair.

So we made a plan.

Session 1: We made a HUGE amount of progress and got her significantly lighter while creating a blend that wouldn’t leave her feeling like she needed to be back in my chair every few weeks.

11 weeks later: This is one of my favorite parts of this transformation. Her color had grown out for almost THREE MONTHS and still looked good. The softer, blended grow-out means she can comfortably go longer between her big color appointments without a harsh line of regrowth.

Session 2: We were able to build on everything we accomplished during that first appointment plus we added in more brightness, got her to a cooler blonde and refining the blend! We got her even closer if not fully to her overall goal.

Color correction isn’t about seeing how much I can make your hair do in one appointment. It’s about creating a plan that protects the hair, moves us toward the goal and works with your real life between appointments.

And when you’re making a 2-hour drive to sit in my chair (beyond grateful to her), being able to stretch those appointments out matters even more. 🥹

First color EVER!!

For her first time coloring her hair, we wanted something that felt brighter and dimensional while still letting her beautiful natural color be part of the look.

The goal wasn’t to completely change her hair, it was to enhance what she already had. We added brightness focusing it in the front, while keeping enough of her natural depth to give the blonde dimension and a softer grow-out.

And I may be a little biased because she happens to be my daughter 😉 but I’m obsessed with how it turned out.

This is exactly the kind of color I love creating: dimensional, wearable and customized to the person sitting in my chair.

💙 A little back-to-school BLUE 💙

Want a fun pop of color without actually coloring your hair? Extensions aren’t always about adding length!

We added these bright blue I-tip extensions throughout her hair to give her pops of color that peek through and the best part is, we didn’t have to lighten or color her natural hair to get it!

I love getting to use extensions for fun transformations like this just as much as I love using them for length and fullness!

Back-to-school hair definitely got a little more fun this year. 💙✨

When you wait 2 months and drive 2 hours to have me do a hair transformation on you… I don’t take that lightly!!

This one was special and filled my heart! This right here is why I do what I do, why I’m a perfectionist and why I absolutely love doing hair!

We aren’t even to the ultimate end goal but she feels more like herself now! She came in with brown, orange, random highlights, and wanted to be blonde again. We chopped around 4 inches off and did a total transformation session to bring her to a bright, cool toned more lived in blonde!!

Very thankful I was able to have this amazing client in my chair and to help her feel amazing again because everyone deserves that!!❤️❤️
