What is frosting? ✨

Chemical peel frosting is that temporary white or ashy appearance you may notice during a peel. It occurs when certain acids, like TCA, cause proteins in the skin to coagulate.

🧪 The science: Acids denature proteins in the upper layers of the skin, changing how light reflects off the surface. Salicylic acid can also create a similar appearance, sometimes called “pseudo-frosting.”

🔑 Aftercare is key: Keep skin hydrated with gentle products, don’t pick or peel flaking skin, and wear SPF daily.

Frosting can look intense, but it’s a normal part of certain chemical peels and is carefully monitored during treatment!
