Stress load capacity is a real thing. Your ability to handle certain stressors also fluctuates based on your hormones.
I often hear the women I work with say that they feel like the things that used to be no big deal, have suddenly become much harder to handle. Typically this coincides with postpartum, perimenopause and/or a higher overall stress load.
Estrogen and progesterone help us to buffer cortisol and chronically elevated cortisol in return suppresses estrogen and progesterone. It’s a viscous cycle.
I’m here to tell you that you are not going crazy. Nor are you alone or expected to just “deal with it”. I can help. In fact, it is a major part of my Hot Mom and Edge programs working with both men and women.
I myself struggle with my stress capacity and let me tell you, these tools help! If you want to know more, comment HELP below and I can send you some FREE resources as well as chat about what it is exactly that might be tipping your stress load over the edge.
There is a reason women have higher rates of autoimmune disorders and thyroid dysfunction. With stress impacting our bodies in a much bigger way, chronic stress is much more detrimental to our health.
It is the primary reason stress management is emphasized so much in my Hot Mom program and my Men’s coaching as well. Without it, the other hormones have no way of improving. The body will always prioritize surviving!
We cannot avoid stress altogether (I wish!), but we can learn how to manage it so that the impact it has on our bodies is less.
Believe me when I say I have chronic stress. But over the past couple of years I have actively worked on it and cut it out where I could so that the overall load was less. It’s not perfect. We won’t be. But the improvement has shown in my lab work and continues to improve.
If you’d like to know more about my programs or how you can help your stress levels, comment HORMONES below and I can sent you some information and we can chat.
It’s not about who is more stressed or why. It’s about how the same stress load can affect men and women completely differently. And also, depending on the time of the month or period of a woman’s life, the same stress she handled with grace earlier, can hit much harder.
Cortisol interacts directly with estrogen and progesterone. Since these two hormones fluctuate throughout the month and lifetime, your ability to handle stress changes.
This has become a huge part of my coaching over the past five years and is and integral part of helping women in their wellness journey to be able to handle their stress load and therefore boost their hormones.

Gen X and Millenial moms are reportedly the most stressed generations in history. Now we could get into the debate about societal expectations, lack of village support or the comparison game, but we won’t today.
I have been working with women for years now to help optimize their nutrition, fitness, hormones and overall health. My approach has adapted and grown as I’ve learned more about what works and what doesn’t.
Now I have a solid method that has helped dozens of women to feel like their best selves (The Hot Mom Method), but it was still lacking in one thing that women need greatly…community.
Hence the Hot Mom Society was born. Now we can all work side by side, support one another, bounce ideas off each other (who knows how to get three kids to three different sports events at the same time without losing their mind?) and give the type of community that not all of us have.
If you’re ready to improve your health, optimize your hormones and feel like your best self with easy to implement, practical guidance and tools, ask about The Hot Mom Society 🩷👇🏻
Normally I don’t go there, but this one has gotten my defenses up.
I have met my fair share of sh**ty men and women, but I’m not interested in hyper-focusing on them while ignoring the good ones. Quite honestly, if you fall into either the man bashing or the red-pill category, I am not for you.
I don’t think in black and white and I’m not interested in blaming an entire population for any single person doing me wrong.
I want to be better than that. And I want better for my boys.
Don’t you want future generations to have happier, healthier relationships than we have? How do you think they’re going to do that if they keep seeing all this hate?
It’s no wonder perimenopausal women start to feel like erratic, feral woodland creatures!
Perimenopause can begin as early as the early 30s with fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone for YEARS before it gets flagged in labs.
Estrogen helps produce serotonin and regulates cortisol while progesterone helps with GABA.
One minute you can be your perfectly calm and rational self, while the next you are flying off the handle at your husband for chewing too loudly, followed by crying over a stain on your kids tshirt. All reasoning lost.
And while you are most definitely NOT alone in this, it can feel like it when everyone (including yourself) is wondering why you’re suddenly “crazy” and your doctor says your labs are all fine.
Good news is, you’re not crazy. And there’s also things you can do about it to help yourself through this stage in life.
It’s definitely something I go over in detail in the HoT Mom Society, because I wasn’t interested in spending the next decade of my life wondering what version of me was going to show up that day (or hour) and I certainly wasn’t going gatekeeping from my community.

Hold the phone! A stranger on the internet thinks my wrinkles need to be fixed!
Should I have a meltdown? Show him (I’m assuming-private account with a cartoon for a bio pic) all the other things wrong with me?
Hmmmm.
I am a recovering control freak and I still have my days of trying to do it all, but I’ve got to tell you, that learning to let some things go and asking for help has been one of the best things for my body and “glow up”.
First off, I’m fully aware there are a lot of oblivious dads at there who don’t see their wives drowning or wouldn’t help even if she asked, but have you asked?
Or maybe it’s just a matter of letting the house be messier, saving the laundry for later and saying no to some of the never ending birthday parties.
What I’m trying to say is, carving out time for YOU is essential. If you don’t cortisol will only continue to rise, anxiety will dominate and resentment will build. None of those things help make you a better mom or partner. And they certainly aren’t helping you be hot!
This is one of the reasons I names my program The Hot Mom Method. It was tongue in cheek when I started noticing the glow up my clients were having by addressing some of these issues and just stuck.
