My nephew Scott 11 years ago vs. today!! 🤪. I think a lot has changed in those 11 years. Lol 😂

Crazy how it’s been 11 years since I took a leap of faith and opened Lily Jackson Hair Studio LLC. I actually had a panic attack when I signed the lease. What if I wasn’t successful? What if I couldn’t support my kids and pay my bills? I did what anyone would do and called my mom. She reassured me that I would be successful and if for any reason it didn’t work out, she would help me out. Well, here I am ELEVEN years later!! What a ride it has been!! I was successful and able to support my kids. I worked A LOT of hours and put blood, sweat, and tears into every ounce of my business. The flexibility of this career allowed me to be there for my kids. Every school performance, sick day, vacation, & school drop off & pickup. It also allowed me to work and earn my teaching degree at the same time. Although I am almost at the end of my 2nd year working full time as an art teacher, I am still at the salon 1-2 days a week. I have been slowly passing on the baton to Makenna over the last year, which has been much harder than I ever imagined. I am reminiscing all of the people that have supported me along the way and to those I owe my success to.

I’ve put a lot of hard work and dedication into building my business, but I couldn’t have done it without my fantastic clientele. My clients are more than just a paycheck. I have learned about their families, trips, ups and downs, births, deaths, achievements, etc. I truly see them as my extended family. Thank you for supporting my dream of being my own boss. I am able to have a career I love and a great balance with family life 💕💕

It also allowed me to work and earn my teaching diploma at the same time. Although I am working full time as an art teacher, I am still at the salon 1-3 days a week. As I am approaching the point of passing on the baton to someone else, I am reminiscing all of the people that have supported me along the way and to those I owe my success to.

Nydia Zepeda and I went to cosmetology school together and she will make a great addition to the team!!
She is now scheduling clients on Saturdays, so call or text to get on her books :)
