Pigise is trying to take her nap on this warm day, but these rude flies keep interrupting her beauty sleep. She has a lot to say about it. After our video, she found a new cozy spot where she hopes there are less flies as she is now behind in her sleep schedule.

Such a treat to have had the privilege to see Clinton Fearon live at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts!
Last week I got to see an opera, this week I got to see reggae. Next I get to see The Clefs of Insanity - All you Gotta do is Sing!
I’ll have to watch The Princess Bride soon to make sure I’m caught up for any references I’m likely to miss.
Our very own Cascadia Chamber Opera performing at the Pint-Sized Opera! Their annual Vocal Arts Festival is one of my favorite times of the year, and there are still four opportunities left to participate. I have added the schedule to the end of this reel.

Want to know what would make these handmade soaps even better?? An electric guitar >:D
Help me out by writing GUITAR in the chat :0
This is Vincenzo, Oregon Coast Soap’s “Show Me the Money” Manager. I’m 13 years old and saving up for an electric guitar and accessories. Until I meet my goal I’ve been given an increased percentage of the profits from all sales. So basically, now’s the time to buy.

I finally cleaned out my worm bin!
Ideally, this should be done around every six months, and my bin was somewhere around nine months. So, I made the work harder for myself, but the job got done, and I was left with a whole lot of worm castings (a.k.a. warm p**p).
A few fun facts that I’ve learned about my little composting crew:
🪱 Worms don’t have teeth! Instead, food is ground up in their gizzard, so we give composting worms a little grit, such as finally crushed eggshells, to help them digest their food.
🪱 Each worm has both male and female reproductive organs, but they still need another worm to reproduce.
🪱 Baby worms hatched from tiny cocoons!
My worms should be pretty happy with their freshly cleaned home. Next time I harvest the castings I think I’ll have too many worms. I’ll either need to start a second bin or gift some worms to a friend.
Do you have a worm bin at home?

Our August letter goes out tonight. 🌻
It's a monthly letter about home, family, community, and the ordinary lessons we're learning along the way. This month we're lingering in the uneven, reflecting on the county fair, and sharing a little gift reserved just for our letter readers.
If you'd like to receive it, we'd love to welcome you.
