💜Why UW: There is a great balance of support and autonomy, exposure to many facets of EM, all the while getting to live in a beautiful area with lots to explore!
👯Most looking forward to for intern year: I’m excited to get to know my wonderful co-residents and get to hike at least once a week rain or shine
🚑 EM interests: EMS, med ed, rural EM, disaster response
🛼 Fav things to do: coffee shop hop, bike the Burke-Gilman, clam chowder and hot chocolate on the ferry, roller blade along Alki beach, hammock at Greenlake
🥯 Fav eats: too many to choose from! Eltana bagels, Thai Tom on university ave, Aviv hummus bar, Cafe Aloe on the Eastside (hmu for Eastside recs😊)

Starting off the new year with another one of rockin’ intern spotlights! 🤩
🏷️Name/pronouns: Michael Choi (he/his/him)
💜Why UW: Multiple clinical sites serving all walks of life in the WWAMI region, lots of elective time + mentorship to discern your flavor(s) of EM, and a close partnership with one of our nation’s top EMS systems = a comprehensive healthcare experience like no other. Also, the people here are amazing!
🌎EM interests: global health, ultrasound, disaster response, access to healthcare
🛳️Fav Seattle things to do so far: foggy morning ferry rides, visiting our 3(!!!) local national parks, strolling in Pike Place + the waterfront, and the aquarium
🍲Fav Seattle eats: early winners include Pike Place Chowder, Saigon Viet Nam Deli $6 banh mi, Fuji Bakery malasadas. And, of course, the HMC mealio dealio (shout out to )

💜Why UW: Incredible mix of academic + county, with lots of opportunities in critical care and global health.
👯 Most excited for intern year: Spending time with my amazing co-interns and getting to explore the mountains around Seattle
🌏 EM interests: Critical care, global health, infectious diseases, resuscitation science
🧗Fav Seattle thing to do: Getting outside in the Cascades or Olympics to hike, ski, backpack, rock climb, surf or kiteboard
🍛 Fav Seattle eats: The Thai food here is AMAZING (and happens to be my spouse’s favorite type of food) so we are currently trying all of the places

💜Why UW: I chose UW because I wanted to work in a program that had robust exposure to both academic and county medicine. Also for the longitudinal tracks and lots of time to be able explore my interests through the electives
Interested in public policy and medical education
☕️Favorite things to do during intern year so far: Really love exploring all the coffee shops and bookshops! But honestly running around Green Lake on a sunny day is my favorite
🍜Fav Seattle eats: SO many good places to eat in Seattle but my favorites so far are Ta**us Ox and Ginger and Scallion

Congratulations to the Class of 2025, who graduated yesterday on a beautiful sunny day, with the waves of Shilshole Bay lapping gently off the shore. We are so proud of your accomplishments and excited for your future endeavors. We will miss you and cherish all of the memories of your teaching and mentorship with us, as well as memories of eating whole rotisserie chickens on Purple side.
