🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏃🏻‍♂️New to running? Avoid these 5 common mistakes👇

Starting a running routine is exciting, but doing too much too soon can quickly lead to burnout or injury.

Here’s how to stay consistent and actually enjoy the process:

1⃣ Doing too much, too soon (ramp up gradually)

2⃣ Running every run at the same pace (variability is key)

3⃣ Skipping strength training (essential for performance and injury prevention)

4⃣ Skipping rest days (given your body a chance to recover and rebuild)

5⃣ Not fueling your runs (we need to eat and hydrate to have energy for movement)

💡consistency > intensity

Build slow, stay healthy, and the progress will come.

See our blog (link in Bio!) for more information!

Happy running!

📣WE’RE HIRING — Pelvic Health + Ortho PT📣

West Seattle | Upward PT
15–40 hours per week

Upward Physical Therapy is growing, and we’re looking for a physical therapist with an interest in pelvic health and orthopedic care for active adults to join our West Seattle team.

You might be a pelvic health PT already, an ortho PT who wants to build real skill and confidence in this population, or someone who enjoys treating the whole person and is excited to grow into this specialty.

At Upward, we practice differently than traditional outpatient clinics. We prioritize:
• 1:1, 50 minute treatment sessions 🕒
• Thoughtful scheduling with built-in charting time
• Clinical excellence over productivity metrics
• A supportive, collaborative team environment 🤝
• Care for active, motivated patients — runners, hikers, parents, mountain athletes, and weekend warriors🏃‍♀️

Our patients are invested in their care, and we give you the time and support to deliver the level of treatment they deserve.

The Role

This position blends:
• Pelvic health (pregnancy, postpartum, pelvic pain, return to sport)
• Orthopedic care for active adults
• Opportunity to quickly grow a pelvic health caseload with mentorship and support 📈

You do not need to be a pelvic expert yet — you do need to be curious, thoughtful, and excited to learn.

You might be a great fit if you:
• Value 1:1 care and meaningful patient relationships
• Love working with active adults and athletes
• Are interested in pelvic health or already passionate about it
• Want mentorship and room to grow clinically 🌱
• Are looking for a clinic culture that prioritizes people over volume
• Love being an integral part of the community you serve and participating in events and workshops
