Repairs are coming along. Plumbing and walls are fixed. We still have a lot of painting to do and all the flooring to do. We only had a few pieces of furniture that are a loss and thankfully my hydraulic massage table wasn't one of them! I'm still seeing clients at the secondary location in Kent for the time being. When we have a Burien reopening I'll be sure to do update you all.

Can you believe this gorgeous sunshine we've been having? Inspired by the sun, I followed along and did a lovely seated sun salutation yoga sequence today link the comments

Hopefully you all made it through the cold weather ok. We had a pipe burst in the ceiling Burien home office. We have crews working on the water damage and plumbing but it will be a while before we are able to see clients in Burien. Please reach out to get scheduled at our secondary office location in Kent as you need and wish until we're back in Burien. Thank you for your support and understanding!

I just updated my webpage with changes to almost every page. Adding new classes I've taken, new info on my basic ASL skills, new pet photos, and reminders that we are still requiring mutual masking. We are full vaccinated including the updated bivalent vaccine as of Fall 2022 and we will continue to follow recommendations on vaccinations. Masking and up-to-date vaccines are ways we show up for others and demonstrate how we care for others especially as we routinely see immune compromised clients.

And I updated my outgoing voicemail reminding folks fastest way to reach me is to text me at 206-914-3885.

new pet photos are on this page bottom right

I will still be masking in public and doing full ppe in my office. Please continue to expect to wear your mask for the entire time you're in the office.

I will continue to prioritize your health and the health of your family. I care about our community and immune-compromised individuals and their families.

My apologies to my clients, my Electronic Health Records platform is suddenly today sending every client (of every practitioner) an email for every time they've ever been seen.

The tech whizzes are working the problem. But again my apologies.

To clients, I haven't made any changes to my professional and personal covid protocols = they're essentially the same as in lockdown: masks & filters, plus shields for work and work travel, no indoor dining or socializing, no gatherings of lots of people, only masked outdoor socializing, ordering groceries and all I can online, etc. Except that after my spouse was vaccinated in May, I have upped my non essential medical care and self care like getting my first professional haircut in June and more things like chiro & dentist & acupuncture.)

I believed we'd be where we are with (re) mask guidance and higher infections/hospitalizations by the fall so my spouse and I decided to just stay the course regardless of cdc guidance back in the spring. I thought that 'going back' to stricter protocols would feel like a step back and be discouraging.

While I appreciate better vaccine access, where I live it's set up even at our local farmers market. As an interconnected web, world community what's happening with covid everywhere affects us and eventually is here too. It's truly disheartening about vaccine access and sharing world wide.

Doing what I can, I'm still talking when I can with folks about the vaccines and trying encourage a culture shift of safety signaling which if follow my personal fb posts you've seen lots of masked selfies. I am shifting any conversation about covid that is about how I'm ok (for example: mine = how I survived covid in Jan 20 & got Pfizer in Feb 21), to one that's about how I care about others and how I'm living into and acting on those values.

It's important I think to remember the unvaccinated are not a monolith. They're not just antivaxxers; they're our children, my clients children & grandchildren, my neighbors children, my reverend's children, the children in my church's congregation, my friends' niblings, people that are immune compromised, marginalized communities, and more. I cannot imagine doing everything I can to ensure your & their safety.

Massage therapists in WA are still required to mask and for masked clients by the Dept of Health even with the reopening of other businesses. This is due to the close contact in an enclosed small space for 60-90 min. Additionally, I routinely have high risk, immune compromised clients and clients who have children and grandchildren under 12. Please plan to continue wearing a face mask the entire time for your massage appointments. For more details you can read about my policies at www.lellanimassage.com I will continue prioritize your health and safety. Thank you for your understanding and for your business. Leilani

I hope you're enjoying the summer like weather we've been having recently. Just a reminder that while I'm relieved so many folks have been vaccinated and now some young people are getting vaccinated as well. There has been no change in the requirements and rules by the WA Dept. of Health governing massage therapists and therefore, masks are still required and all the same protocols are in place. Please plan to continue wearing a face mask the entire time for your massage appointments. For more details you can read about my policies at www.lellanimassage.com I will continue prioritize your health and safety. Thank you for your understanding and for your business.

Good news. I have been vaccinated, my new hydraulic table arrived, and I am seeing a few clients a week up to 2 clients a day. I am severely limiting the number a day so I can thoroughly clean and air out my space especially given the new strains of COVID. I am hopeful that at this very limited level, I will be able to maintain this level even as the situation with the pandemic unfolds. Masks are still required for both clients and therapists and I'm still doing the same levels of precautions. I value you all so much I can not imagine doing less for your safety and health. The fastest way to reach me is to text me at 206-914-3885. Warmly, Leilani
