Lost in the beauty of the sunbeams and the shades of green 🌿☀️🌳
The kanji for "komorebi" is 木漏れ日, which is composed of the characters 木 (ki), meaning "tree", 漏れ (more), meaning "leak" or "escape", and 日 (hi), meaning "sun" or "day". Together, the characters represent the natural phenomenon of sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees, creating a beautiful interplay of light and shadow.

Kirsten always has makeup on point, loving the retro teal eyeshadow moment ☺️
This blonde is honestly the only high maintenance thing about this very sweet, down to earth young lady…the long appointments are a breeze because she’s just a treat to spend time with 🥰

As much as I dislike these early sunsets, I know the days are only going to get longer, and my photos, better 😂
Kinda interesting flipping through the pics though that you can see the difference in how the hair color presents in indoor “natural” lightbulbs in the dark of the salon vs the cooler evening overcast of the fading 3:30 PNW sun.
But let me tell you about how we got here, and I have to open by saying how much I love my new bleach.
Starting on the right front side, I applied
53g BLONDEME lightener + 143g 20volume. Stephen’s hair is very dense so I apply a heavy load of mix to each slice of new growth to fully saturate and coat it like frosting.
I processed for 30 minutes under a loose processing cap, then squeegeed the back two quadrants with a towel until hair was “dry-ish” and reapplied lightener mix starting in the back -
28g lightener + 70g 20vol.
After reapplying to the back (where his regrowth is darkest, coarsest, and with the least amount of natural silver), I repeated the process with the towel in the front. He is mostly white around the hairline, but has blue black hairs mixed in with them that will read as SCHOOL BUS YELLOW ( to me at least 😂) if I don’t reapply to the front quadrants as well.
I prefer the squeegee to a rinse because it doesn’t irritate the scalp like rinsing and drying does…saves time too!
You can see in the last pic how light we got before toning!
After the shampoo and condition, I dried, cut the hair, applied SHADES EQ toner with a tint brush starting in the back, and processed the full 25min for longevity and true full tonal deposit.
Stephen is in the chair for nearly 4hrs for this triple process and cut, but it’s his vibe and no one can kill it 😎
Message me below! Let’s go blonnnnnnndddeee!!

This was my second coloring session with Steph, I’ve been cutting her hair for ages but we finally dipped our toes in color! This time I used a similar color palette to refresh her highlights, but with a richer pigment load than last time.
Love love love how this one came out, and she’s looking very festive in that cranberry sweater 🎄
Happy Holidays y’all!
I have openings for new and existing clients in the new year, don’t be shy, shoot me a message!

Going for a brighter, bolder blonde this round, 5.5hrs in the chair and shampoo bowl, this was a big guns day.
Jessi is a cool level 7/8 naturally, so with BLONDEME lightener and 7 volume developer I was able to get them this bright in one round using foils.
I followed the shape of their head and used a mix of tipping and weaving to mimic a very tight-to-the-scalp balayage effect. Every hair went in a foil to get those bold ends. 😌
After cleansing the hair, I blow dried (Shades EQ says to apply to dry hair for longevity, so I do!) and applied a root smudge to make it EXTRA BLENDY and a tonal gloss for shine and to refine the raw lift of the bleach.
Very stoked on this one 😎
Also, Jessi is just flat out one of my fave people and I love working with them so much, so it was a long session, but it didn’t feel that long 😆
Love you sweet human!

Haven’t posted in a while, you can tell when we took these though!
Coco started with some natural root, and then black dye through the ends, so my first step was removing the artificial color with Malibu CPR, it is super gentle on the hair and breaks the bonds of the color so they can be rinsed out with shampoo and hot water. It’s always my first step in a dramatic color correction!
I followed that with an application of Schwarzkopf BLONDEME lightener, and then it was time to put the final color on, which I used Pulp Riot for!
The final cut is what makes it so rock and roll though!

Your death sounds a strange bugle call, friend, and all becomes hard
To see plainly describe truly. This new light imposes change,
Re-adjusts all a life-landscape as it thrusts down its probe from the sky
To re-arrange shadows, to change meadows, to erect hills and deepen vales;
I can’t see the old contours. The slant alters. It’s a bolder world
Than I once thought. I wince, caught in the thrill winds that dance on the ridge.
Is it the first sting of the world-waning, the great Winter? Or the cold of Spring?
I have lost now the one only friend wise enough to advise
To explore deftly this one problem. I am left asking. Concerning your death
Of whom now would it half much to ask counsel, except of you?
- C.S. Lewis
Kelvin, my big bro, what will we do without you? Your death is a supernova shooting love, and zest for life into all who knew you, may the squad live on forever. Missing you so much, saying goodbye to you today was challenging and beautiful and strange. Thanks for clearing the way for us, my dude 🕊️
